Diogo Costa

Everton showed up Ortega so much on Saturday, his shotstopping, command of his area excellent but his distribution was appalling, the times we lost the ball from him launching it up the field was considerable and against a better team that would have cost us dear.
cant score from a throw=in ;)

Honestly Pep is the only one that I know that cares that much. Even Enrique doesn’t care that much. Same with Emery and others who prefer a similar type of football
But he does care,a lot, and he's our manager so we will have a keeper that is very good with his passing. It's also very likely our next manager would also prefer a passing keeper.

The point for me is that there‘s no manager beside Pep who HAS TO HAVE a passing keeper. There is no club/ coach beside Pep and Barca who prefer a goalkeeper who can pass from the back. Even Barcelona isn’t that strict which former Valdes and now Szeczeny or however he is spelled. Costa is a bad shot stopper but if the board fully agrees with Pep‘s decisions despite him being here for max 2 years then so be it.
Again. I don’t know any coach right now on the market who prefers a passing keeper than a shot stopper and I am looking at every top club right now in the CL or all around

It's a pointless argument though. Pep does and Pep is our manager for the next 2 seasons so we wil have a number 1 that is good with his feet. Talking about keepers that aren't is a pointless waste of time.

Has a bit more experience than other options.

The club take so much data from players and input from the goalkeeper coach etc? Remember that Pep said he hadnt heard anything about Ortega and it was his goalkeeping coach who reasearched, watched videos etc and made the call.

Yeah and that’s been a great transfer for us.

I always say we should trust the coaches, scouts etc. we get far more right than wrong.

Agreed. Viana seems proactive in really going strong to overhaul the squad which is certainly exciting! Just hope Pep is onboard fully with it.

Given how this season has gone, with all the injuries, the way we have played, the way he’s harmed, scratched, and bruised his face and head. He’s been through a lot. For his own peace of mind—and for ours—he better be fully onboard moving forward. We all want to see him at his best. The overhaul needs to happen.

He he wasn't fully on board he would of fucked off by now.

Imagine it excites Pep

I have slight reservations when he mentions that the squad is exceptional, doesnt want a big squad etc? Pep says his feelings as is and i hope we dont come to a point if say Bernardo is told he`s leaving and Pep is adamant he wants him to stay and the club sell against his wishes?

"Manchedter City"

Is that a type of Cheese?

On a serious note, I get a little bit annoyed when people say things like he accepts the project. This club really isn't a project. The club is a trophy winning machine. The only thing left to do is stack up some more Europeans trophies to further underscore our status.

It is a translation from the latin languages that always comes off wrong. What they mean is they like the club’s vision and strategy.
