Seat Counters - 2024/25

you have to recreate the buzz, you cannot do that sat at home, working on that mentality we should all just pack it in because we have seen all there is to see. Personally want to see City become the most successful club in England
I disagree. I know of people who spent some time away from games due to various circumstances (work, family, illness, etc.). They returned some years later with a renewed appetite.

You can't have a go at people for skipping semi-finals. Many people know they can miss it and still qualify for a final ticket. If we beat Forest, then those who missed it won't necessarily miss out on seeing success.

The game-changer for me was Brighton away in 2019. I never thought I'd not be bothered about not being at a match in person when we lifted a trophy, but that day came along and the taboo was broken. Covid certainly was a time when people reassessed.

I'm still a ST holder and I've seen a lot of success in person since that day. Fear of missing out is no longer a thing for many of our fans and I think it’s perfectly understandable. We've seen such a lot and, yes, probably been spoilt. And whilst there are plenty of us who would still like to be there to see us lift silverware, the thought of missing some big days out doesn't feel as consequential. I know United fans who felt similar after 1999, but they have plenty of fans to take up the slack.

It's not a case of packing up and calling it a day. Lots of avid City fans have never seen us win a trophy in person.

For some reason I'm starting to get the belief that people are wasting their time here. It's genuinely not worthy of a reply or entering any dialogue with him.

Credit to Marvin for sticking to his guns despite the clear evidence that proves him wrong.
I stick to what the evidence says not what people want to believe.

The official attendance was 52,192 but we there were clearly thousands of empty seats.

I thought the official attendance represents tickets sold but not bums on seats. If as was said above that the official attendance is tickets sold plus complimentaries then that supports my argument that there were large numbers of season ticket returns. It does not support the argument that City received thousands of tickets back from ticket agencies. If they did then the official attendance would be much lower.

I am not going to post on this forum any more because as you say there is no dialogue, only abuse.

I'm sure it's been mentioned on here before, but if people want to know the actual attendance (ie, people physically in the ground), GMP have these numbers.
You have to keep a record of how many people are in the venue for the Fire Safety Certificate so these figures are recorded by every stadium and various bodies have access to them, such as the council, police, fire brigade etc. They're not widely published or of much interest to be honest.

There are so many reasons why the numbers inside might differ to the ticket sales you can't draw any insight from it. The fella who sits next to me gave up getting to a League Cup match because he was still stuck in traffic half an hour after kick off, trains get cancelled as well.

Remember those Chelsea fans the other season who were sent to Sheffield on the train to get a connection at 8am the following day. Who would go knowing this crap is going on?

I'm in Portugal at the moment so missed the Villa match and will miss the Forest match. I'm annoyed about the Villa match. It was moved to the Monday for TV, when there was a huge chance it would be postponed because both City and Villa were still in the cup, then it was played at short notice on Tuesday. Who would have planned travel, hotels etc for the Monday night slot? I put my Villa ticket up for sale after asking if any of my mates wanted it and the club didn't even list it for sale.

When that sort of crap is going on these figures become meaningless.

Yes Johnny, that was the reason for the change of name, the FA couldn't prove any of the money went to any charity from any previous match. I'm not sure where it goes now but "Community" is beautifully vague!!
Probably how the FA kept their dubious charity status to avoid having to pay tax

Tickets remaining on the planner on sale for semi-final:

Level 1: 1,811

Level 2: 951

Level 5: 1,891

Have to say after 7 semi final fa cup appearances on the bounce almost 32k take up is pretty impressive. No doubt Forest will sell out if they haven’t already but so would we if we hadn’t been there for years. I’m in Spain but to those attending have a great day and hopefully we book the final date in may

When the new Wembley opened the division of gate receipts changed.

Previously the FA and the two clubs got a third each after costs. That's how it had always been.

Since then, the two clubs share half of the gate receipts evenly after costs up to the semi finals. Then the FA take all the profits from the two semi finals and final.

It's a split that favours smaller clubs in earlier rounds and guarantees the FA a decent return for running the competition.

The reality is if this hadn't ever happened, Old Trafford would host one semifinal with Arsenal, Tottenham or West Ham possibly Liverpool hosting the other almost every year. Villa Park, Hillsborough etc are simply too small.

Yes Villa Park and Leicester's ground have been used for the Community Shield in recent years, but that money is for "charity"???? and not for commercial gain, so I'm sure different reasoning took place. It certainly wasn't travel considerations when City played Liverpool at Leicester a few years ago.

We only played at Villa because of the Olympics right?

think that was the first time, wonder why the Leicester ground was used?
The Women's Euros was on at Wembley the following day, under UEFAs rules it couldn't be used the day before, which is why it was moved.

There were limited options because the season started earlier due to the Qatar World Cup and some grounds/pitches weren't ready after summer work etc.

I think the only choices were Arsenal, West Ham or Leicester, which seems like utter bollocks to me. Villa Park, Elland Rd, Hillsborough or Bramhall Lane would surely have been better!

there is still 4000 odd seats not opened up yet, so take that off...28k

We are the luckiest fan base in the world, our owners do everything they can to build a world class successful club. This is how we repay them ? We deserve the stick we get from all and sundry. Pathetic turn out, lacking loyalty, passion, dedication. Well done to all those making the effort to support Pep and the team. Personally I can't make it as I have to put the bins out on Sunday nights.
Not everyone has a load of money to spend on a trip to Wembley with the potential to be doing it all again just three weeks later.
