One of the greatest English strikers of all time.

Scored 100 Premier League goals after the age of 30, a Premier League title and an FA Cup to show for it.

From the non-league to Premier League champion in four years.

26 England caps is a crime for which Hodgson and Southgate should be put in front of the Hague.

A limited player but used his skillset effectively and ran us ragged a couple of times.

Been a great servant for them, could have gone to Arsenal at one point.

I wouldn't go that far. Never displacing Kane and better strikers than Vardy still struggle to get a game now.

In a possession based side he would get found out.

Love the way he chose to stay at Leicester instead of run off to Arsenal and cemented his legacy there. Stayed loyal to them until the end and consequently must go down as the greatest ever player.

Disappointed he called time on England when I think he still had a lot to offer.

One of the greatest English striker's of all time? Been great for Leicester, but one of the greatest of all time???
Absolutely.

Of the players to score more than 100 Premier League goals, Vardy's goal/game ratio is 0.42, the ninth best rate for English strikers in Premier League history.

One of only three English strikers to win the Golden Boot since the turn of the millennium.

Considering he didn't play for one of the Big Six - you can only imagine the numbers he'd have posted playing for a bigger club.

Edited for accuracy.
And I personally think that Peter Shilton is the greatest ever Leicester City player.
He was world wide famous in my opinion.

An amazing career really, given his limited tools, he’s maximised his talent to the maximum.

He probably stayed 2-3 years too long as he’s will be on a huge wage that could have been used to buy a player for the future.

Shame he never got to play at the highest level from a younger age because it we saw he was more than capable when he finally did.

He was excellent for a few years

Just goes to show there's probably some brilliant raw talent out there that slip through the net for one reason or another

Was he limited ?

He was quick, a very good finisher, he could provide assists (47 in the PL) and very useful for a team to knock balls into the channels for.

no more limited than most strikers.

He was lethal in a counter attacking side. He’d likely have been far less of a stand out playing for us.

How would you have accommodated him to get more England caps? Leaving Kane out?

All subjective. Lineker was probably their finest in terms of quality. One of the best strikers in the world for a number of years. England's 2nd best all-time leading goalscorer for a long time until he was overtaken by potato head and Kane. His goal to games ratio for England was much superior to the granny shagger too.

I'd give Vardy the nod over Lineker personally more based on longevity than quality. Playing over twice as many games and also winning silverware for them. A rather unfashionable club that have won very little historically.

Don't ever think I'd give the accolade to a goalkeeper, but again, personal preference.
