I didn't realise people did dislike him
Doesn't take much to upset our fanbase mate and for them to hold a grudge. Not entirely sure where it stems from? Recall him making a snide remark about empty seats once, but far from on his own there and there wouldn't be many people left in the UK if it was based purely on that. Haha.

I've always liked Lineker. Happy memories when I was more bothered about England in 86 and 90. He's a decent bloke all round for me. I realise he's not everyone's cup of tea but I like and I will miss him on Match of the Day.To be honest I don't dislike Lineker the same as everybody else. Italia 90 was my first football memory (I was 5 at the time) and Lineker was my favourite player as he scored most of the goals.
This then turned to David White, but we didn't really have a representative in the England team at the time so Lineker remained my favourite player for England for another couple of years.

Reminded me of Bellamy in that you’d never really like him unless he played for your team.
Stats wise he had the same number of seasons in the PL as Owen. Scored at least 20 goals 3 times out of 8 which was 3 times more than Owen managed…..

The late, great Frank Worthington wasn't bad either. Keith Weller was a tidy player too. Lineker was better than Vardy.
Mahrez beats the lot though.

I only didn't like him playing against us.... everyone else he was brilliant.
Thought given his age he had a really good collection of medals since he was playing for Leicester.

No manager on earth would drop Kane for Vardy, unless you accommodate him by playing 2 up front which again .. no manager would do.
