Reijnders, Wirtz, Kerkez, Vanderson = Perfect
Maybe MGW/Wharton
Vanderson, Dimarco (my personal favourite) or Kerkez (younger and offers more longevity), Reijnders, and Wirtz — those would be my picks.

As for Wharton, he’s a natural 6. Even though he can fill in at 8, I don’t like him in that role and wouldn’t play him there. He simply doesn’t have the intensity required for that position, especially in a team like ours. If we hadn’t signed Nico, I could understand the logic behind bringing in Wharton as a second 6, even though I personally do not prefer him. But with Nico and Rodri already covering that role, adding Wharton would be completely unnecessary.

I’d much rather focus on signing another 8 alongside Reijnders. Since we’re already linked with MGW, if we land him for a reasonable fee, he would be my pick for the second 8 instead of Wharton. He’s got the legs, the running power, and the intensity we need.

Yeah I was forgetting that Gonzalez exists. Wharton indeed makes no sense. MGW is most likely then someone we will see here in the 8/10 role. Same with Reijnders. But 2 CM? Not sure with Gundogan and maybe even Kovacic staying.

Unfortunately because of the stupid homegrown rule, we will end up paying £20m more for MGW instead of Reijnders and get the inferior player.

Liverpool or Arsenal will end up signing him and he will end up dominating the league next year whilst we sit and watch MGW not have a clue about how to break down a parked bus every week.

I honestly cannot, for the life of me, imagine not signing Reijnders. With Bernardo set to leave and Kovačić rumored to be on his way out too, it’s a no-brainer. Even if Kovačić stays, Reijnders is one of the best 8s in world football — missing out on him just because we have Kovačić or even Gündoğan or the Homegrown rule, would be madness.

Personally, I would sell both Gündoğan and Kovačić if it meant bringing in Reijnders — and that's even assuming MGW is the preferred choice for the board because of his homegrown status.

you can’t create a scenario and get mad at it

Why would Gibbs White be playing every week, if he isn't performing. Get all our targets we'll have lots of midfield options.Of which MGW will just be one and a very decent one.

Ill agree that currently, Wharton is surplus to the midfield pivot with Rodri, Nico, Kova and Bernie all likely staying next season.

I also want Reijnders as an attacking 8 in the mold of Gundogan.

But given that Gundogan is staying, and that Foden, O Reilly, Bobb, and McAtee (+ Mukasa) can easily play as an attacking 8, I dont see a second one being necessary tbh.

Reijnders is perfect in that he somewhat replaces KdB and a future Gundogan, whilst we still keep our other attacking players fresh with plenty of minutes.

As someone who has not watched Milan could someone please describe to me what this guy is like?

Is there a prem player he is similar to? Thanks!
