Yea pretty much.I think the new roof will cover the same area as the old roof for the lower tier.

Based on what the edge on this one looks right now, I just don't believe that the final design will be a straight copy of this one. They're not stupid people.
There's around one third length of the new beams to be added to the ends yet. It's going to be massive.I think the new roof will cover the same area as the old roof for the lower tier.
The prevailing wind in Manchester is southerly (ie. From the south ) so the north stand is always (or the front of it) is always going to get the brunt of wet weather :-(There's around one third length of the new beams to be added to the ends yet. It's going to be massive.
Don't know, it's not raining : )Is the roof leaking…. :-)
We usually get South Westerly weather so the North and East stands suffer the most if it is wet.The prevailing wind in Manchester is southerly (ie. From the south ) so the north stand is always (or the front of it) is always going to get the brunt of wet weather :-(
With the North Stand having the single upper tier, there is a break-line between the sides and the end, similar to the Spuds stadium solution, whereas with the South Stand they have tried to keep the natural flow of the roofUnlike the south stand they have taken the opposite approach here. Not attempting to join the corrners but deliberately and obviously stopping them with a clear distinction between the two.
It may seem severe, but imho it does actually work better. Just my own take.

I’ll take the north stand option :-)I agree.
It’s basically a toss up of whether you want the corners to look better internally and not as fluid externally (north stand);
Or,
The corners to look bad internally but look more fluid with the rest of the stadium externally (south stand).
Yeah, but there is a natural break on both at the corners (you can see it in jimharris photo as well) so either development could have taken either approach to the roof junctions really. Both also need redone one way or the other if the east and west stands ever extend.With the North Stand having the single upper tier, there is a break-line between the sides and the end, similar to the Spuds stadium solution, whereas with the South Stand they have tried to keep the natural flow of the roof
I like the two stands being different but having a somewhat uniformity. I hope the East and CB stand go through a similar revision.Yeah, but there is a natural break on both at the corners (you can see it in jimharris photo as well) so either development could have taken either approach to the roof junctions really. If the south stand hadn't been done, I'd probably be thinking this stand being split out was a bit harsh or even lazy. But having seen how the south turned out, I personally think it is somewhat better. I do get others arguing otherwise though, which I have seen, just comes down to personal preference.
I think the large tv screens will move across to fill the gap :-)The lack of new end blocks at the north end of the side 3rd tiers gives me OCD.

Head down for 8pm Friday nightGreat result, now beat Palace in the FA Cup, back at the etihad tomorrow afternoon for a good look around. Going to go Monday, Wednesday and Friday so hopefully see some changes. Cheers
I’ve wondered why the didn’t extend those, as they did when the South Stand was extended.The lack of new end blocks at the north end of the side 3rd tiers gives me OCD.

I’ve wondered that, it would also add around 260 seats to capacity, pushing it well over 62k.The lack of new end blocks at the north end of the side 3rd tiers gives me OCD.
