Are Leeds Good Enough To Avoid The Drop Next Season?

Ward Prowse, Fullkrug and Alverez are beyond average and have done f*ck all for us.

Soucek has been brilliant over the years but he is now a slow giraffe in the middle of pitch.

Bowen and Kudus yes, but that really is all we have.

Leeds have far more pace, width and hunger about them than us.

I still think over a season they won't have enough as it stands.

The gap between the two divisions now is utterly monstrous.

All Championship sides coming up have hunger, then reality sits in the minute they go 5 games without a win which didn't happen to them in the Championship.

I don't think Farke will last until October as well.

The squad they have is probably one of the best to come up in years, however Farke hasn’t got the minerals to keep them up, they’ll go on a bad run, he’ll get sacked and they’ll hire some other numpty and get relegated in 18th.

Non of the promoted teams will be good enough because they aren't allowed to spend and close the gap. It's not so much of a league anymore, it's more of a closed shop, a cartel.

Forest did it but got hit by a points deduction, which luckily for them wasn't enough to relegate them in the end. Look at them now a good chance of CL qualification and only beaten by god's own club in the FA cup semi final.

In other words, break the financial rules and you might stand a chance, otherwise forget it.
Yep. This is the way.

Although Ipswich spent over £100m last summer and look at them. Admittedly a lot of their signings just didn't work.

Burnley have the best chance imo. 15 fucking goals conceded in 45 games is absolutely insane.

What is underestimated is the brilliant job being done by a host of smaller clubs sat in the mid and top half of the table.

Forest
Fulham
Brighton
Bournemouth
Brentford
Palace

All clubs that are no strangers to the lower leagues. They've all got decent players and have worked out a way to be effective in the PL.

But the reality for them is big clubs will look to take their best players (many already have). And maybe there managers and directors of football.

These clubs are by no means safe, all could have a wobble. I wouldn't be surprised if they all get relegated some time in the next 5 years.

So yes Leeds can stay up. These just need 3 other teams to have a worse season.

I suspect they will give it a better crack then last time. Not convinced their manager is good enough though. We'll send them back Harrison, that should condem them on second thoughts !.

They have done good jobs, but it has come at serious cost.

For example, Forest have spent nearly £400m since getting promoted in 2022 and Bournemouth have spent £300m since being promoted in 2022.

Brighton are probably the benchmark and blueprint for a promoted team, but that model only works as long as you can keep hold of your scouts. Brighton's scouts are all getting picked up by the top clubs now.
