Any lurkers? Ask the FA why there is no kick off time issued for a FA Cup Final, less than three weeks away? Good story really, people have to scrape money for tickets and travel from the MCR area. Do your jobs with a proper story for once.

I can feel a 5:30pm coming on, bunch of cunts.

The commentary for the game is very different to when we’re in the CL.
They’re are actively supporting the English team. A far cry from when we play.
Every dive by Arsenal was a foul according to Shearer and every foul on PSG was not a foul according to him. Non stop moaning about Trossards booking which was a booking but ignored the 2-3 yellows Timber got way with all night. But totally different as you say to how commentary are like on our CL games

The FA cup is what it is. Not as big as winning the PL. If City won the league today it would be the main football news of the day. No agenda, no conspiracy, just a fact.
Apparently last years Cup final surpassed the Premier League title in prestige. I don't know why.

Call me cynical but had we lost 0-1 at home to PSG I doubt we would see this as a headline

More likely “What PSG need to do to reach final.”

Just been listening to that bastion of mediocrity", Fletch" commentating on Inter game ,forgot himself, and mentioned Inter had been in a C/L final..Couldn't bring himself who they played.
If it had been his favourite D/S team we would have had a rerun of the game.

It's like it's all some massive piss-take.
To still not have a kick-off time is an absolute piss-take. There’s also the issue of a rearranged PL game that Blues have to work out. The powers that be have utter contempt for those who actually attend games and only care about the armchair supporter.

Fast forward 12 months and this could be the difference between someone losing or keeping their season ticket!!!!!

To be honest I couldn't name all their CL final opponents off the top of my head, I remember them beating Bayern M, losing to City and Celtic, I knew they beat Real M in a final but not the other 2.

I wonder if BBC sport would be moist about our women's teams winning the league 6 years in a row as they are with Chelsea.
I've just been looking at all that BBC stuff.

It's quite amazing (not) how they love Chelsea ladies winning season after season, mind they never give Celtic any grief and they've still got zero competition really.

If only we were Celtic eh?

Might as well be....

Funny Chris Sutton is fine with Celtic winning year-on-year and he never says anything negative about Chelsea Women's dominance.

Yet he doesn't want us to win the FA Cup and he was very vocal about not wanting us to win 4-in-a-row!

And if it wasn't for that pesky Barcelona Womens team Chelsea would have won the CL they deserve to complete 'historical quadruple'.
(For those not aware Barca fluked an 8-2 win over Chelsea Women!!!!)

This is not particularly profound but I've come to the conclusion the way City are viewed is actually indicative of a much wider social malaise.

In a world where there's a tendency to treat everything like one big reality TV show we are essentially the contestant who turns up has a good solid plan, plays smartly, wins many of the challenges, doesn't bad mouth the opposition, doesn't do anything outrageous whether win or lose. In other words is a model of professionalism and competence. Or to put it another way a reality TV producers nightmare.

There was a time when society used to value excellence and capability but in an always on 24x7 world that's not what is required any more. Are you not entertained? Increasingly neurotic, dramatic, unhinged behaviour is required for people's increasingly jaded palates. Or that's what they would have us believe and would direct us towards.

They feed off contestants who provide drama, they want the faded beauty queen who can't work the toaster and nearly burns down the house; they want the self-absorbed one who spends all their time in the hot tub crying as they desperately explain how sexy and special they are; they want the one who starts well but becomes fraught and goes on the wine too early and ends up chucking glasses everywhere. I leave you to work out which club is which, but the point is they don't want the sane one who tries to behave normally and focuses on how best to get the challenges done. Who wants to watch someone being excellent when you can watch someone stick a firework up their arse?

We were alright when we provided drama early doors, after all they still play the Aguero ident. But as we became ever more capable and took things to a new level the view was that being excellent wasn't entertaining or dramatic enough in comparison to dysfunction so if we had none they would do their best to create it for us. They hate us not simply because we are interlopers, but because we are excellent rather than entertainingly dysfunctional interlopers. The more I think about the failed attempts to pin things on us the more I think the motivation was at least in part about providing a reality TV narrative that we didn't provide them with, as much as it was about simply hobbling us. Either way it's been double bubble for them.

In previous times our achievements would have been sufficient on their own but sadly not in the world we live in today where twattery seems to attract retinas.

Our national sport has been turned into a circus. In some ways our club is as complicit as others in this but at least on the pitch under Pep we've mostly been the graceful acrobats performing with style and dignity. It's just a shame that what the circus masters really want is clown cars and tooting horns.
