Just a thought.
All the whining about traveling, kick off times, costs, etc is perfect fuel for the Wembley of the North arguments.
If/when this is brought into the debate, remember how it's helping justify public money going into Scruffy Jim's bulging pockets.

We'll be seeing one Southern Semi and one Northern Semi with allocation being decided on who the teams are. (Of course City will still be put into the Southern Semi)

It was like we were all burnt out of football and the success we’ve had over the years. I hope I don’t sound entitled with what I’ve just said but the performance from the players definitely suggested that they had enough of winning trophies.
They’d been winning games on empty for a while. The main target for the season was an unprecedented 4 in a row or defending the CL. They didn’t spot Ten Hag resting key players in the run up to the final as he targeted the only route to Europe and thought they would be able to win it as they had so many games before but without preparing properly for it.

It was annoying but understandable in the grand scheme of things.

It was odd. I think they'd done absolutely everything they could to win the league again and the effort from that ended up leaving them completely spent for the Cup final. We were so flat and disappointing that day, but the goal from the start of the season was to win the league and once we did that I don't think they had it in them to step up one more time.

That should have been all the evidence we needed to go big last summer, but clearly they felt a break would be enough. With an international tournament last summer that was naïve.

Getting beat by them bastards anytime isnt good, being burnt out isnt an excuse

Bernardo admitted a few days ago in the press that the lads gave everything to win the title last year, then once it was won it was like the balloon suddenly deflated overnight. They'd been keeping their levels high to win the league but then once that was achieved the reality set in that we were knackered and couldn't go one step further.

Couple that with Ten Hag suddenly happening across that weird 4-2-4 counter-attacking system with Fernandes and McTominay basically up front and you've got a recipe for disaster. After being shit for ages they suddenly won their last two games of the season (vs Newcastle and Brighton) and got a little bit of form just at the right time.

And with hindsight Pep said that the team in Nov, Dec 2024 was dead on its feet with only 12-14 fit players. They couldn't cope with the physical demans. Getting KO'd from the CL, signing Marmoush, and the emergence of O'Reilly has led to some recovery.

Villa looked like they underperformed in their semi-final due to fatigue. There are too many games now. The CL is so much more draining than the Europa League which is played at half power with many reserve players (until the final stages).

There is only so much room in a trophy cabinet. When it is full it causes a huge dilemma I presume.

It is a logical thought.
And welcomed no doubt by the Legacy locals being able to attend an Old Trafford Semi.
But they would still moan about the Metro Queue anyway -:)

It isn’t an excuse, the players didn’t turn up and we as fans didn’t really. The year before we were all buzzing as we knew something special was happening. Nothing will ever top beating them at Wembley and completing the treble a week later.

I've heard a 4:30 ko time...
This sounds plausible. BBC want an earlier kick-off time but probably won't get the 3pm that they're reportedly asking for so I was thinking possibly 4pm or 4.30pm. Anyway, let's wait for official confirmation of the KO time which I've heard is due on or around the 16th May ;)

11 days before the game then tickets would go on sale the next day giving only 8/9 days of sales. Gonna be some weird points windows if true.
