After last night's game, what are the best/favourite games of football you've ever seen live or otherwise, not necessarily City related (although can be)? I'll go for in no particular order:

City 5-3 Monaco 2017
City 2-1 Liverpool 2019
Germany 0-2 Italy 2006
Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid 2010 (I think)
Spain 4-3 Yugoslavia 2000
City 4-0 Real Madrid 2023
Brazil 1-1 Netherlands 1998
City 6-3 Arsenal 2013
Barcelona 6-1 PSG 2017

Probably loads more I've forgotten and recency bias probably plays a part in the above

I wouldn’t rate the City 4 - FC Franco 0 as a great game; it was too one-sided.

But I would like to nominate our recent 5-2 victory over Palace as a great match.

I didn’t realise just how good the game was, until I watched it on TNT, a couple of days after, as I was too caught up in the action at Etihad during the match.

The 2022 World Cup final.
This won't be popular here, but the 2005 CL final between Liverpool and Milan. How Liverpool won that game against that Milan team with the likes of Shevchenko, Kaka, Gattuso, Crespo, Cafu, Seedorf, Maldini, Nesta, etc, I will never know.

Last night, the Monaco game, Tottenham 4-3, 2022 World Cup Final.

You forgot to add the all time classic with a near on impossible comeback, brought fans and journalists to tears of joy, it was talked about for weeks after, it got referenced to one of the all time games ever. The quality of football was off the scale, maguire last minute goal up there with Aguero maybe even better, the earth stood still when maguire scored that.
United 5-4 Lyon 2025

A lor of the recent matches against Real except this year has been of great quality jist not the results.

A number of the Barca-Real derbies under pep were a different level.

Milan v Barcelona in 94 was awesome.

Charlton v Sunderland Playoff final 1998 & Brazil v France at Mexico 86 are 2 of my favourite ever non City games

Brazil vs Italy World Cup 1982
Amazing match, but I was gutted as a 10 year old that that Brazil side were out. They opened my eyes to different game but I don't think that there's been as such an attacking minded team since.
Zico, Eder, Socrates, Falcao, Junior are names that will always raise a smile. Imagine if they had a decent striker as well!

If you're talking about games actually seen live, it has to the QPR game; not sure it'll ever be bettered, for me anyway. I guess that there may be some who were at the Madrid s/f a couple of years ago who might argue the point, mind. The Cup final a couple of years ago would also be up there. The first ever "Manchester" derby FA Cup final, glorious weather and that rapid opening goal. On the telly; last night, Brazil vs Italy in the '82 World Cup and the 4-4 between Newcastle and Arsenal, when Arsenal shit the bed after going 4 up.

Not sure whether this thread is about games that have given you the greatest pleasure as a committed onlooker. (Because us vs Blackburn in 2000 would be up there, on that count). Or whether it's about games that produced the best football you'd ever seen, without the outcome being important to you.

Talking of Blackburn, our away game at Elwood the season they won the Premier League was a cracking game, if I remember correctly.

We won 3-2, and I think Uwe scored the winner..
