I called this final all the way back in the group stage. Some pushed back suggesting united wouldn't get anywhere near it yet now they're one game of not being smashed away from the final whilst sitting 14th in the league.

As i claimed back then, the removal of the champions league dropouts makes this competition piss weak. It will be used as a means of getting extra English sides into the champions league for the foreseeable future until they recognise the pattern and change things once more.

Get used to having 6 premier league teams in the CL most years.

I would expect two English clubs to be contesting next year's Final as well.

It can't be blamed on United or Spurs, but the new format with no clubs dropping down from the CL has seriously weakened the competition.

I understand that a TV channel are going to big up any competition that they have the rights to. But, fuck me, some of the shit Glenn Hoddle and even poor old Joey Hart were presumably contracted to say after the Tottenham game, Joseph Goebbels himself would have been embarrassed to come out with.

Last nights game was a prime example of how the UEFA Cup has plummeted and the quality of the teams playing in them have become poorer.

It says it all that your reward for winning such a prestigious competition is you don't have to play in the fucker anymore. It is crap, especially with no CL falling into it so it is very weak. Well I am not that mental but I am sure some on here would claim that Bilbao purposely threw the game, which didn't happen. Unless they are also part of the big United masterplan conspiracy. If we win the fa cup and seal our cl spot I don't care what they do, it would be horrible if we didn't as they snuck in this way.
