Different eras, similar players,
I watched ‘The King’ growing up as a kid and remember him as our greatest ever.

The king was the heart and soul of a brilliant City team and revered for his all-around play.
As a box-to-box midfielder,Incredible stamina, work rate, tackling, and scoring ability.
Regarded as our greatest player for decades;
Helping us to win the First Division, FA Cup, League Cup, and European Cup Winners’ Cup.
King Kev is arguably the best midfielder of his generation, in a City side that is one of the greatest ever seen.
Multiple Premier League titles, FA Cups, Carabao Cups, and CL, Twice named Premier League Player of the Season.
KDB has surpassed The king in terms of trophies, assists, and global recognition,

In pure footballing terms, KDB & The King are football legends,
But watching Kev through older eyes and a better understanding of football, KDB slightly edges it for me.

Let's get real here... City's greatest players will will always be Colin Bell, Peter Doherty, and Billy Meredith.

These modern day multi millionaires playing on carpets wouldn't last two minutes on a proper football pitch with a heavy ball.

KDB comes way behind David Silva imo. A great player, but overrated by the media and pundits. David Silva was an artist.

Interesting isn't it to talk about "greatest players". Did you ever see Peter Doherty play? My dad was a great admirer but only ever saw him play in "live" matches at the ground because there were no matches on TV and no highlight programmes. He's certainly a player I would love to have seen. Billy Meredith too, but we can only go off written reports on Billy. My memory of great inside forwards at City really begins with Bobby Johnstone, and he really wss great, especially to a schoolboy. George Hannah was another favourite and later Gio Kinkladze. King Colin came in between and he was admired the length and breadth of this country and well beyond. In 1968 Don Revie said he would be the first English player to go for £200 000 - if City were ever daft enough to sell him! Since te takeover we've been really spoiled - not just KdB but also David Silva and YaYa and we've been able to see almost every minute of every game they've played.

We've certainly been spoiled at City and it is a thankless task trying to say who is the greatest. The game has changed so much and the quality and success of the team in which these lads have played has varied so much that it would put KdB ahead of the rest, but that simply shows the difficulty in judging an individual player in a team game. All I can say about both KdB and Colin is that I have never seen anyone better. It was always a pleasure to watch both.

Peter Doherty was my dad's era and was his second favourite City player, after Frank Swift.

Dad said that Doherty was light years ahead of everyone around him, and we were both in complete awe of Colin Bell.

I wish my dad had lived to see David Silva and Yaya Toure. He would have loved them.

As for Billy Meredith.. the history books don't lie. He was simply the greatest footballer of his era. People travelled to watch Meredith whoever they supported.

Been privileged to have seen both play
I never compare players from different eras memory plays tricks in any case The game has evolved but, I would have loved to have seen them both together in this era but that is being pure greed Imagine Colin winning the ball near our pen area flighting a ball to Kev,who powers forward, then steaming down the opposite flank as he reaches the area Kev making one of trade mark passes whilst in motion for Colin to smash it home

I could have written exactly the same about my dad
