They are band who’s Best Of album makes for a consistently high quality listen, all killer no filler.
I love tracks like Eyes of the World, but by far the majority of the album is Dio-era.

In his own way I found Blackmore a bit frustrating because a bit like Page, live was variable and often a bit different to the recorded solos, but hey, well it’s Ritchie! :-)

Blackmore was an extreme pioneer for much of the guitaring styles that didn't really come into fruition until 10 years later.

Blackmore live has the same go to licks :P Like any guitarist. Take Stargazer and Stormbringer for a non-live example :P

Stargazer is an interesting song you mention. My favourite, but they didn’t keep playing the whole thing live very long, though I think he’d play excerpts in solos, and I feel that’s cos they could never do it justice live.

If you ever get the chance to watch Dream Theater (original line up, particularly Portnoy, Rudess and Petrucci) live. They tend to do a couple of Deep Purple/Rainbow in the encore. And John Petrucci really does Blackmore's solos justice.
