Shame I was looking forward to this game as I'd heard so much about this group of players but they've underwhelmed to say the least.

We are so used to seeing them win and usually with ease. They probably are themselves and don't know what to do when they are being outplayed. They generally are better than this but as someone earlier said maybe they have been a little complacent.

Heskey in the 1st half looked decent, but as for the rest of them, not a patch on the classes of 86’ or 2020.

I know the 86 team is close to my heart and of course the team is completely different than today’s set up, but by the time the final came around Redmond and Moulden had played in the 1st team. One year later 7 had played for the first team.
In 2006, Micah Richard’s was a regular for the first team to the point that Stuart Fucking Pearce picked him in a meaningless last game of the season 1st team fixture instead of the first leg of the final (which we lost 3-0)
Tommy Doyle too had played 1st team football. There is nothing here to see any of them stepping up
