According to Sport Bild, the reason the current Bundesliga champions have been hesitant over offering their star striker a new deal is due to their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Haaland.
I see. Your mind is made up because a paper told you so.Okay but what exactly is wrong there when it happened ? There is a difference between a meeting which is normal than the statement that someone has chosen a certain club.
You keep using examples of Bild not claiming a player is signing as evidence they've got signings wrong in the past.According to Sport Bild, the reason the current Bundesliga champions have been hesitant over offering their star striker a new deal is due to their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Haaland.
Not at all.You keep using examples of Bild not claiming a player is signing as evidence they've got signings wrong in the past.
I'm not that keen at all and nobody is saying that we should give up. You started to give examples of Bild announcing done deals to Bayern. First you posted headlines from 2 Spanish papers, then you posted a headlines of Bayern having a meeting with Haaland, then you posted that they were hesitating on giving their striker a new deal because they were interested in Haaland. Not one of your examples had Bild saying they were going to sign a player. Not at all.
People are basing him going to Bayern on the reports of papers.
If that were the case, we would have given up on Haaland and Gvardiol, to name but two, whom Bild said Bayern were in negotiations with.
If you are keen to believe that he is going to Bayern, that is up to you.
When did Bild post a statement of fact that the signing of Wirtz was complete?I'm not that keen at all and nobody is saying that we should give up. Oh, and now you're using another example - De Bruyne to Bayern. The clue is in the question mark that follows it. You don't seem to know the difference between speculation and statement of fact.
I've not claimed they have! I haven't got any evidence. But you're using examples of Bild speculating on players in the past as evidence that they've got it wrong before. They haven't on any of the examples you've used. Jesus wept, you even used two Spanish papers as evidence. When did Bild post a statement of fact that the signing of Wirtz was complete?
When did Bayern post that?
I understand the difference, and I look forward to your evidence that the signing of Wirtz is complete.
So we agree that it isn't a done deal and you don't have evidence that it is a done deal. That is my point.I've not claimed they have! I haven't got any evidence. Usually, until confirmed by the club, I take no notice of headlines. Speculation is fun, and nothing more.I can’t think of many if any top German talents in the last 30 or 40 years who haven’t been lured to Bayern IF they have stayed in Germany during the peak of their careers. Wirtz is destined to join Bayern and I fear City are being used by the agent to leverage the package his client receives and by Leverkusen to leverage the fee. I’m honestly not sure the move to Bayern makes the best sense for the player - can you have two conductors in an orchestra ? But Bayern have a long history of bullying the rest of the league and hoarding all the best talent in Germany. I suspect without City’s interest Bayern would have tried to lowball Leverkusen. Not sure who City move on to because I really haven’t been impressed with Simons but, I really have little confidence in us landing Wirtz - no matter how much we are prepared to throw at the deal. Happy to be wrong.

Here, sometimes, as soon as a paper speaks of a player going elsewhere, we act like we are doomed and have spent years chasing a player and wasting our time.
The attempted signings of Dani Alves, Alexis Sanchez, Jorginho, Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Declan Rice suggest City are quite often sat like sad fuckers whilst a player signs for another team or ends up agreeing to stay at their current club at the last minute. It`s funny that some dont think City will know if Wirtz has chosen Bayern and are just sat there like sad little begging fuckers hoping he changes his mind! If he has indeed informed us of his wish then behind the scenes we will have moved on to new targets but will be fine with our interest being there still to cost Bayern more money!

Kev is not a German national - I meant German nationals. I think with Gundo being at Dortmund we did ok thereCouldn’t do it with Kev though
You have quite literally proven my point. We thought we had them all sorted after doing ground work earlier in the summer then were left looking like mugs at the end when the player opted to sign elsewhere or remain at their club. Not true. Alves was pretty much done but then got a huge offer from PSG who also used Paris as a draw for her fashion label? Sanchez just took the huge double the wages offer from the rags that we would never have matched? Jorginho was purely our issues with ADL that was well documented who kept moving the fee up when we agreed numbers and his agent was actually sat i believe in Manchester for days just waiting to conclude the deal before Chelsea took Sarri and Jorginho as a package? Messi was everyones dream until it was too late and the club actually decided against it in the end? Kane and his dopey brother actually believed that they had a verbal agreement with Levy and it also turns out as per Pep himself that Levy didnt even return our calls or emails? With regards to Declan Rice, we did actually bid £90m you know? £90m!!!!! No one seen Arsenal doing over £100m did they?
