Fantastic goal, and one of our most memorable ......
Deepest thanks to Agent Kelechi.
Brendan RogersJust watching the highlights back, a couple of things strike me. Why were Leicester playing as if their very lives depended on it? As I remember it, that game had no importance whatsoever for them?
The other thing is how willing we were to take shots from outside the box (one of which was the goal, of course). Why has that pretty much dried up? It's done my head in this season.
All in all, that may well be our greatest ever title. Shit, we played head to head all season against a team that lost one match! One. (We all know who it was against — one of the most titanic matches I've seen from City in fifty + years). I seriously wonder if there's any precedent for that in the entire history of the PL and the old first division.
Nope, Dundee mate. Are you from the Cumbernauld area by any chance ?
Cheers not looking for a lift as I'm in Manchester.Just my Uncles mate comes down each week with his son from CumbernauldNope, Dundee mate.
Definitely no precedent. The fact that Liverpool's points total that season was the fourth highest in PL history and failed to win the title will possibly never be repeated.Just watching the highlights back, a couple of things strike me. Once a Blue always a BlueWill never forget being there that night.
There's nothing more nerve wracking at a football game than feeling you've witnessed an incredible, iconic moment that will go down in history, but then looking at the clock and realising there's 20 minutes left and one goal for the other team will spoil it forever.
Thankfully Kelechi felt the same.
The Mahdi celebrates…
Not at all; Gundo 2022 was just as epic and spontaneousFrom where we were sat it looked like it was in slow motion then everyone exploded around us, it was a proper frustrating game until that point.
Looking back you realise it was the last great title winning goal we could all celebrate euphorically together before VAR changed the game forever.
Should’ve worn your coat.I can still feel the chill when the goal hit the back of the net, superb goal from our much missed captain.
And the very strong Dippers connection that's why.Brendan Rogers
