"No Vinny,Don't Shoot" 06/05/2019

I always wonder if Vinny shot the first time instead of taking another step, would he have scored
 
I had to work that night. I listened to it on the radio. I went mad when we scored and was told to go and take a cig break to chill out. I didn't mind doing that as listening to it was shattering my nerves.
 
Might have mentioned this before but I can’t help but notice Slabhead’s lack of reaction when the strike went past his face. It was only when he heard the roar of the crowd that he turned round.

Was it arrogance or stupidity that wouldn’t let him follow the shot into the net? Who cares!
 
Just watching the highlights back, a couple of things strike me. Why were Leicester playing as if their very lives depended on it? As I remember it, that game had no importance whatsoever for them?
The other thing is how willing we were to take shots from outside the box (one of which was the goal, of course). Why has that pretty much dried up? It's done my head in this season.

All in all, that may well be our greatest ever title. Shit, we played head to head all season against a team that lost one match! One. (We all know who it was against — one of the most titanic matches I've seen from City in fifty + years). I seriously wonder if there's any precedent for that in the entire history of the PL and the old first division.

At my local here in California (lunch time) which is a Palace pub but attracts various sorts, and on that day, i recall two never-before-seen Liverpool fans, one in a Skrtl or some other shit kit, I forget (they weren’t even playing, but he wears his kit FFS). Oh the depression on their faces when that went in. The pub full of neutrals roared. Delightful!!! So poetic. VK has always been and will probably always be my favo(u)rite player.

Definitely no precedent. The fact that Liverpool's points total that season was the fourth highest in PL history and failed to win the title will possibly never be repeated.
