"No Vinny,Don't Shoot" 06/05/2019

Just watching the highlights back, a couple of things strike me. Why were Leicester playing as if their very lives depended on it? As I remember it, that game had no importance whatsoever for them?
The other thing is how willing we were to take shots from outside the box (one of which was the goal, of course). Why has that pretty much dried up? It's done my head in this season.

All in all, that may well be our greatest ever title. Shit, we played head to head all season against a team that lost one match! One. (We all know who it was against — one of the most titanic matches I've seen from City in fifty + years). I seriously wonder if there's any precedent for that in the entire history of the PL and the old first division.
Er...NO!

Was at the game. Had a tenner on Kompany first goal with the bookie in the ground, mate had blagged some corporate tickets. Not posh ones, just free pints, pie and chips and a good seat.

When I collected at full time bookie said I was the biggest winner of the match. He actually looked pretty pleased handing it over.

Here’s to you, Vincent Kompany. Cheers.

And he got his statue...

What a man. What a goal. What a legend.

I was watching at home then just after half time at 0-0 we had to go out to Salford ( from where we used to live was a 40 mile round trip). So about 9.30 I couldn't take the stress much more ( didn't want to listen to commentary) had a quick look at my phone to see 1-0 and Vinnie had scored. Put phone on again just after 10pm, scared to look, then let out massive Yessss.

Watched rest of match when we got home about 11.30 and fleck me what a screamer of a goal by Vinnie. So many moments that season, but in my mind that's the league winning moment. 6 years have gone so fast.

And God bless Kelechi Ianacho, I am convinced he missed deliberately. You can take the boy out of City, but you can't take City out of the boy. Respect and gratitude to him for that miss!!

It was easier to score than miss yet he put it high & wide. Felt at the time that he did it on purpose. Oddly enough not much has been made of this by other teams & their fans (unlike, say, Rooney still going on about QPR "allowing" Aguerooo's goal.)
