Could have been given, but wouldn't say they were stonewall penalties.

There's this stupid unofficial rule with penalties where they try to judge whether a player 'would have got there.' Which means as long as you push them in the back early enough, you always get away with it.

This is true. Southampton aren't even trying to play and just stacking 8-10 at the back, we can't really be entertaining here.

I'm looking forward to the Cup Final, As I said numerous times over recent weeks we are in a position that performances is irrelevant and winning games is the most important.

We're way too risk-averse. So many opportunities where I'm thinking we absolutely have to try a pass into the box and we decide against it every time - like we're terrified of losing the ball. What happens if it doesn't come off? This lot are bobbins, why are we so scared of giving them the ball?

There was a moment where Kovacic had acres of space and about 4 options in the box and he looked up took 5 seconds and just passed it sideways. Like... what are we doing?

The thing that has separated Kev from others is he's willing to lose the ball to make something happen.

You're not wrong, there's so much absolute nonsense that goes into giving and not giving penalties now

I've happily criticised Pep for his selections this season but I don't see what the problem is with this one. We've completely controlled it from the first minute to the last and if Kevin's free kick had been an inch lower we'd be saying what a solid performance it's been.

We need to be a bit quicker around the box but that's it really, and Southampton will get tired from all this chasing. Defending tires you out faster than attacking and we've got loads of options on the bench to change things. Marmoush will be coming on for McAtee soon, I'm sure.
