You maybe right but Dok is still making all the wrong decisions as he did last season. I see no improvement this season

Who would you pick for left back mate? My suggestions are only the most likely based on the numerous rumours? I’d love Kerkez in and Vanderson at right back but it just isn’t going to happen unfortunately. I don’t think we will go high enough for Gibbs-White either but would prefer Reijnders anyway.

In midfield forget Wirtz, Reyna's son is a lifetime blue and is still only 22 and is better than MGW and 3 years younger.
Tonali is also one I feel would be a great addition.

Reyna whose dad left his executive position with city and he didn’t want to join us a few years ago ?
 
We remain a squad in transition but, for me, the ultimate direction of travel is just as unclear. Are we going to sign players that allow us to play expansively and maximise the strengths of certain younger players, or are we going to sign players that allow us to dominate possession and control and maximise the strengths of certain older players? The winter window added little clarity, so I suspect the exit door this summer might be more telling.
 
I am a bit concerned with the players were being linked with. I've not seen any yet that remotely get me excited or I feel are our level. We don't need to sign superstars for £100m but we do need to target players that have that potential and top player mentality like we did when we signed the likes of Silva, KDB etc.

I do think Rodri will raise the levels again next season, but the midfield and full backs are a massive priority to get right this summer. I also think Marmoush will be brilliant next season and will really add goals to the team.

Anyone else worried about the forward/AM/Winger that we are crying out for? Anyone with creativity.

Personally all for MGW to replace Bernardo in the squad but there will be an enormous loss in the squad with KDB gone.

Wirtz gone. Baena said some rancid things and close to Atletico it seems. Cherki is almost the anti body of what we’ll move for. But it really seems like a creative superstar like Cherki, Palmer. It more so feels like we’re not going to be heavy enough in the market and throw our weight around for our targets like we have done in the most recent passed. Before settling for absolute mediocrity.

My head has gone with this but thank god it’s sunny eh

All depends on who we are targetting, but maybe it also depends on how much faith we have in Bobb or Echeverri as 10s,I've not seen enough to know that answer. Unless there is an outstanding candidate like Wirtz, we may decide what we have is as good as whats available.
A part of me hopes we try a midfield 4 from Rodri, Gonzalez, MGW, O'Reilly, Foden, Bobb, Echeverri,Gundogan. Adding attacking width from 2 new fullbacks.

The real harsh reality was again brought home in yesterdays performance....

The truth is this squad is finished and now not good enough to even over th course of a season challenge for top 4

There are at least 8 0r 9 players who arguably for different reasons need replacing and that aint happening over the course of one summer transfer window even if we still had Txixi...with Vianna it could take years to get back to anywhere near where we were and looking at the potential incomgins the it doesnt beuild confidence in him......

The players that shouldnt have a future here

KDB - argument is over - greatest ever player but at times he can hardly strike a football correctly - tis been there infront of everyone for over a year.
Gundo - a few recent better performance but like KDB the writing is on the wall and the worrying thing is we know he is staying
Stones -never fit - no use in him being here - rolls royce defender but now cant even get on the pitch for a game before being off again
Ake - as above
Grealish - for me he is the most expensive mistake we have made in recent years....I questioned his signing at the time in terms of attitude and ability - a bang average player who in my opinion has been lucky to be part of the squad. This signing (which is not his fault) set the tone for the prices we then went on to have to pay for other players....that is on Txixi and the club
Nunes - not good enough in any position to be a squad player
Rico Lewis - same as Nunes - not good enough in either position to be a squad player.

Serious questions arund another few
Savihno - looks awful in front of goal....can create but erratic with it....has time but there are doubts he can make the step up
Doku - Love the guy -his endless willingness to try and make things happen is needed - but does he really have the quality....? Probably good enough to be a squad player
Berbardo - the only reason at the moment he isnt in the group above is he stil has the physical ability and willingness but we have known his head has been turned previously and he could easily want that again after this season.
Kova - worringly our best midfielder here this season - but him as a first choice says everything.

Thats 11 players that we have serious questions about one way or another!!! - that is not doable in a transfer window....not even close

You could also add Ruben Dias into that list as he has been way off it this season - level below most of our top centre halves in terms of actual ability with the ball - excellent leader however (normally - yesterday's comments aside)

Then we move onto the signings:

Reis - not sure of why we signed him - obviously a project player but he looks a long way off physically
Khusonov - looks very good BUT how does he fit in? - clearly he doesnt at present...probably not a fullbak for Pep so it will have to be at centre half
Marmoush - very good player but again with Haaland around how does he fit in. HE IS NOT THE NUMBER 10 WE NEED...so I can only see him fitting in playing from a wide position
Nico Gonzales - looks good bt aint playing - how does he fit in with Rodri back? Id imagine both can play as either one can play further forward BUT is that the plan?

The we look at the links we are getting:

Wirtz - the one player available that could replace KDB - now obviously we cant control that he will end up at Bayern - that was prety much written in the stars from the start...HOWEVER our plan B's and C's previously when this has happened havent been great.
MGW - doest inspire confidence....has legs and running ability....but realisticaly does this calibre of player win titles - its got the Grealish mistake written all over this again

Cambiaso - looks very good - gone quiet on him but hopefully we get the deal done

Links to lots of young players who could or could not make it.....not what is needed at present with the squad being low on quality

The biggest worry is not just the performances this season - its the lack of quality in the players on the pitch...Yesterday vs Southampton, people can complain about effort etc (and you would be right) BUT the lack of quality was also evident......some of that was lower midtable level and has been for bg chunks of the season
