We have 2 very difficult games left, I don’t see us winning both. This will go to final game & away to Fulham will not be easy on final day. We really needed to win yesterday

Fulham will struggle for Europe now after yesterdays defeat which may help us...and we need all that's going.

If United could do us one favour in their last couple of games (either vs Chelsea or Villa) the rest should take care of itself.

I think a win will do.

As it stands, if I've worked it out correctly, prior to Forest playing today and assuming Arsenal qualify, if City win one more match for us NOT to qualify it would mean that Newcastle need to win one of their two remaining matches (so they might need to beat Arsenal), PLUS Chelsea and Villa both need to win both of their remaining matches and Forest need to win all 3 of theirs, which means they'll need to beat Chelsea on the final day.

I know who my money's on.

Didn't Bournemouth recently beat Arsenal at the Emirates? Hardly bad form. If the ref/VAR had been operating properly, Villa would have been down to 10 men and would not have won the last game. We will need to be up for it.

I thought they looked a shadow of the team that won at Newcastle though.

Tough game don't get me wrong, clutching at any available straws as we are in shit form.

The more I look at this I see Bournemouth the harder game. I can see a draw v them needing a win v Fulham :-(

I think a low scoring win for Newcastle was probably what we needed. And things become a little clearer now. Arsenal likely to get 71 points Newcastle 70 Villa 69 Forest 68 and Chelsea 67 unless they beat forest. If so they get 69 and forest 67. If we don’t win verses Bournemouth to get 68 it could see us in the eufa. Will be a nervy game that. Would not want to be going to Fulham (as I am) needing a win even if we do usually do well there. Just emphasises what an almighty fuck up yesterday was. Looks like us or Chelsea now.

United are on a roll. ;-)

They will get a shock result before the end of the season against Villa or Chelsea. Their players are now playing for a Thursday Night cup final place.

Probably mentioned before but if dippers beat arse, and newcastle beat arse, then a newcastle win on the last day means they finish second.

You'd expect arse to be the saints, which in the above scenario puts them on 70 points. Win our last two games, we'd have 71 points, and arse would finish fourth.

When I was on here earlier this morning there seemed to be a consensus that a Newcastle win would be a good outcome for us. I think your take is overly pessimistic pal; I’d rather say, we’ll need 4 points. I can’t see a scenario where we’d need 6, though I’m prepared to be corrected.

Well. How about teams that while not being consistent have shown glimpses of quality.

We've just been consistently poor. What has got us where we are is a certain level of experience. However the football has been very uninspiring.
