Girona thread - 2024/25

Sponsor's reach exposure to the world when negotiating is a big plus! How many players have we actually got from them? 1 or 2 max
I can't think of anyone we got from them.

Didn't we loan them Yan Couto, Yangel Herrera. Sarmiento and some other youngster.

And what benefit is that to Manchester City?
Because a lot of our sponsors cross pollinate and CFG is a global brand, with City reaping the greatest rewards.

Indeed, Melbourne City MEN’S TEAM just reached the Australian A League Final, where they will play a local derby against Melbourne Victory!

Once again, it’ll be exposure for the global brand, and you can be certain CFG will be mentioned, as will Man City, in the lead up to the game and during broadcast.

You've done it now, half the board will be after you using Man City and not Manchester. ;)

was looking forward whats the plan at Girona, but largely it seems like there is no plan...

after a CL season you would think they spend a bit, given that finished horribly (16th, after 4th previous year), but they either have no money or no interest in spending.
they got Lemar on loan from Atletico (flopped badly there), and now getting Reis from us on loan and thats it so far. they sold some of their better players summer 2024 after their great year (ad lost Savinho), likely they never recovered of that.

their CL wasnt too good either, out of 8 games 1 win, 7 losses.

Most likely they finish between 11/17th, hopefully not relegated, as we would send there even less players imo in future.

generally lower half sides in La Liga have little money to spend, but Girona may not even spend 1 million all summer which would much lower than in previous windows.

sooner or later these clubs will want to leave CFG lol. I bet originally likes of Troyes, Girona etc though they will be a new Man City haha.

looked at Palermo, they are in Serie B now, just hired Inzaghi as manager, finished 8th last season, they could mount maybe a promotion fight with bit of transfers but again hardly any meaningful transfers this summer
