Same. I have never for one single second thought Wirtz would come to City over Bayern. Not for a millisecond. There's too much pull in the other direction.

Absolutely, I feel the same way. It really does seem like Bayer are positioning themselves to squeeze the maximum out of Bayern—they know the leverage they have. The noise from all directions just makes it hard to tell what's real anymore.

And I agree, as much as I’d love to see Wirtz at City, I’ve always had that nagging feeling Bayern was the likelier destination. The pull is just too strong—culturally, domestically, and from a career narrative standpoint in Germany.
The only reason I’m still invested in this saga is because of what I’ve been told and the trust I have for them. At this point, I’m more curious than anything—to see if we can actually pull off the mega feat of snatching him from Bayern. Otherwise, I would’ve already resigned myself to the idea that it was a lost cause.

If he signs, brilliant. If not, we move, no drama. What matters most is that the club acts decisively and brings in top-level reinforcements.

I think Bayer absolutely hate Bayern and will do everything they can to stop him going there. I doubt it's all about money for them, if they can get £100m from us and he doesn't join Bayern they'd be happier than him going to Bayern for £150m
