Cup Schemes - 2025/26 | Deadline Friday 27th June 5pm

Dropped CL this season and that was fully justified after I sat through that bore-fest with Inter, plus the rest of the miserable campaign. Came out of the other two for next season on the grounds that I'll get a semi-final or final ticket if I want one.
Bore-fest with Inter? It was really good game.

I've renewed for FA cup and CL, but if we are in EL, and I haven't moved house by then (retiring and in the process of moving back north) the seat will be empty, unless we are playing someone decent (unlikely), it might be empty for the CL too, depending who we play.

Train and overnight stay required (from here, not if I am where I want to living) for all midweek matches is far too costly now.

I feel that travel is becoming a major factor for a lot of City fans and it is affecting the nature of our midweek crowds.

If you listen to Pep's press conferences, he has commented many times that he is aware that City are playing a more conservative brand of possession football this season but he regards it as a pragmatic response to age and injury.

Therefore the decisions to drop scheme membership on the grounds of entertainment might be flawed. It seems completely obvious that this season's form and tactics are affected badly by injury to Rodri, chronic defensive injuries and the age of KDB. Pep is not a defensive coach, regardless of what some commentators say about slow possession football. The careful possession reflects short-term weakness.

It's just so shit. You can be waiting for a tram after the match for 15 minutes. If it was London, there would have been 3-4 tubes in that time. There seems to be no provision for the fact that 50k+ people will all be in the same place, at the same time, many of them requiring a tram home. Traipsing across town after a long day of working is not appealing at all.

I used to be in all the schemes but sacked them off after football came back post covid.

Combination of wanting to spend my time and money on other things and evening games being a pain in the arse to get home from.

I suspect I am far from alone.

Dropped the League cup scheme for this year,
would always be able to get a ticket if wanted to go and for a final if get there,
but keeping the Chumps league and FA cup as only got 11k points, so think i would need the scheme to manage a decent ticket for any finals (ie cheaper), plus FA cup is usually a weekend.

I said the same thing to my daughter when she turned 18…….
She’s 30 now and I’m still paying….. and for the lad too….
The joys of being a Dad eh???
(And I wouldn’t change a thing. Quality time, memories for life, money can’t buy that)
I have no option anymore, I'm on 15 pence per hr above minimum wage, something has to give.

All 3 for me. Same reason I joined the scheme in the first place. I'll be going to the game anyway and no involvement from the ticket office required

The pricing in the cup games is an issue too.

There doesn't seem to be any structure in place for CL tickets, it's like a number is plucked from the air 2-3 weeks before the game.
I'm hanging in with all 3 schemes, mainly because I live in town and can walk to/from the games so it's not a nightmare to do, and thankfully I can afford it.

The UEFA scheme is the most difficult to swallow though, City completely took the piss with all CL games this season - paying £52.50 (in 326) for Inter, a group game, and again against RM was just bizarre and felt like they were just gouging. As others have said, we should set our stall out with a flat rate for the group games at the start of every season (agreed with City Matters?). It's only going to get worse though with extra tickets to shift and away fans in the home end if prices continue to rise and true blues are priced out. It's such a shame that blues have never took to this competition, the club and their ticketing policies has to bear a chunk of the blame in my opinion.

It’s not often I back the club over tickets, but I think until last season our Champions League prices have been pretty good.

I know there’s lots of factors why Champions League games aren’t attractive or feasible for some fans. But there is also a significant ‘I can’t be arsed’ element, who also go mad when they can’t get a Real Madrid semi final or end up having to pay top dollar for a Final ticket.

You’re doing the right thing but the fact many parents - including me - are subsidising (or paying full whack) for their adult kids is helping to hide the problem of modern football in that prices are just way too high. My kids need to save up ridiculous deposits for a house or just to pay rent, so luxuries like football are only available for the very lucky few young ones.

If they stop going then it’s less interesting for me too so it’s not just one regular fan stopping, it’s potentially two or more.

Free parking - greedy council stopped that.
Cheap parking - greedy operators stopped that.
Easy trams direct to the stadium - metrolink stopped that.

The direct buses are great for convenience but are only needed because the three things above happened, AND they’re charging a premium for them. Parking WAS £6 per car so £1.50 each for 4; trams ARE £4.50 ish each; the direct buses are £8 each. That’s £3.50 extra x19 for the premier league matches (£66) so people are starting to look for savings and looks like the CL is the biggest chunk of money to save.

That's because they set them too high when we first started qualifying for the CL. They struggled to sell the tickets. Even the first game against prime Barcelona only just sold out
