Emma Raducanu

All the coaches who have worked with her can not be wrong, can they ? Talented Yes, but the hard yards and going through the pain barrier that the best players do is what makes them great, are still missing.

Look, she won a major and put ladies' tennis back on the map in the UK, but questions about the competition when it was in the COVID-19 pandemic, and players withdrawing, but you still have to win, and she did, it's in the history books so nobody can take that away from her.

I like her tennis, but the attitude and cutting corners in training and sacking so many coaches is a problem, also pulling out of games because of blisters and a little injury sends out the wrong message.

She is still young enough and could be a great top-ranked player, but it's getting harder every year or when she changes coaches

she's not tried me yet ! such a simple game stop hitting the ball to them so they can return it, keep in corner and make them run

if only it were that simple

I always remember Roscoe Tanner and his serve at 100mph, you always find a way to return the ball

What do you mean by “cutting corners in training”?
I ask because everything else you’ve mentioned I’ve read people opine about before, withdrawals from matches due to injury etc,’but not that. Are you basing it on something one or more of her ex-coaches have said, or a particular article etc? In what way is she supposed to be cutting corners in training?

She is reportedly training less but that is no bad thing.

Being 100% devoted to the plan set by the coaches, her new selection is more flexible "free spirit" style

Look, No Pain No Gain, all them coaches can not be wrong

I am indeed familiar with the Law according to Arnie pal ;-)

But ok, I didn’t realise that was her new plan, and by implication what that said about her previous regimes. On a related note, I’m not aware of any of her previous coaching teams having ‘broken ranks’ after parting with her, but will see if there is anything out there.

Will she be able to win another slam title? The evidence would suggest not. The one she won was in 2021; was the States in lockdown at the time? The best she's done in any slam apart from that one is the 4th rd at Wimbledon (twice). And that's not hating on her; I have no strong feelings about her, pro or con.

All of the big seeds at the time were there though this was the first US Open that both the Williams sisters did not participate in for about 20 years. Raducanu's opponent in the final (who was also unseeded) played 3 of the top 5 seeds. The highest seed Raducanu actually faced was in the QF against Belinda Bencic the 11th seed.

No. She basically lucked out in the one she did win and didn't have to play anybody of note. She's basically the rags of the tennis world.

Who knows ? Maybe she can, maybe she can’t, there is a field of thousands of talented players out there training to win a slam- the fact she’s won it should be enough for people to get off her back but it’s not, it’s constant negativity and doubt thrown at her all time on social media and forums, the press seem for the most part supportive which is good to see.

Read my post again. I'm not "on her back". I clearly stated that I have no strong feeling about her either way. You need to recognise that.

There's definitely something in this, I use edge, and just the default screen with City, Footy and the PL as followed topics, yet she's always front and centre. Doesn't really bother me as I dont care about tennis and instantly head to other sites, but she must have Vini/Jude PR

She's young and good looking
