Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

This game was a copy and paste of virtually every game this season, what goes through pep’s mind when he’s watching this, those last minute winners of yesteryear have gone.
We simply can’t get thru a packed defence so if he thought this game would be any different then he’s deluded.
Different players same system won’t cut it next season we need new ideas a new way to play otherwise we end up like the rags
Saying roll on next season.
The sooner those charges are settled the better pep can then leave with a clear conscience and we move on to the next phase of mcfc.
I pray we get that champs league place
Otherwise it’s going to be a grim summer.

The people saying Haaland pussied out of the penalty. I'm sure there was a decision before the match who the designated penalty taker would be. That Haaland had the ball beforehand, and gave it to Marmoush is probably the recent tactic of tricking the opponent keeper. I'm speculating, but it seems reasonable.

What I don't get, is that the designated penalty taker should be practicing the penalty to perfection. How hard is it to put it in the corner from that short of a distance???

Really disappointing, yet another game this season where we’ve huffed and puffed and never looked like scoring. We had plenty of opportunities but the team give no vibe of being capable of taking them.

Fair play to Palace, rode their luck but absolutely deserved that today (if we ignore the failure of VAR to uphold the laws of the game). Worse teams we could have lost too.

Too many players not at it, Kev fluctuating between the odd moment of magic and looking like he’s got his boots on the wrong feet the next.

The two wingers flattered to deceive, Haaland invisible.

Less said about Akanji the better. A right back that can’t cross to a right winger (Phil) who can’t take on his man or get a decent quality of cross in.

The only positive is that longer term this season’s dip will hopefully push the club to get their finger out of their arses and sign the type of player that will make everyone excited to go to a game, let alone compete for trophies.

Fucking stupid decision to give Marmoush the pen, but we definitely should have won that. OK Henderson might should have been sent off, but we didn’t take advantahpge of the chances. Two games in a row now, no goals after dominating possession, and Bournemouth and Fulham will have taken notes. Meanwhile, imagine United getting into the Champions League whilst we end up with Thursday night also rans

Utter shit, but disgraceful not to have the keeper red carded.
Sort your necks out management, spend your money better owners.
Thanks for your time b4 this season KDB,
Gundog please just move on, same for Akanji, Bernie.
Sort your life out or move on Phil.
Lewis, Nunes, Savinho, just no thanks.
Pep please have a long think about what you are doing, it’s affecting the club.
Started at last years Cup Final and it’s got worse.

It is indeed but the truth is VAR is just another form of corruption, for some teams they look for a reason to give the right decision and for others (and not just us) they look for a reason not to give the right decision, they know what they are doing.
That is not the Keepers fault nor the reason we missed the penalty nor the reason we created so little, we need to pass with purpose and much more pace, to many of these players fall short.
I begrudge Palace nothing, Congratulations to them, see you Tuesday Bournemouth, lets hope for a backlash from our boys.

Inverted fullbacks are great if the players are good enough at passing to basically be like extra midfielders. Lewis and Stones can do it. Walker and Akanji can't.
Agreed but if we can't get the best ball players then it's pointless. I'd much rather have a walker who makes selfless runs, has energy and pace to burn all day than a rico who can keep the ball better and not do much else above that.

Can we please stop with the “congrats Palace” shite? This isn’t like the Wigan game where we were absolute shite and deservedly lost the game. I’m all for being gracious in defeat when the result has gone the right way. However, no fucker with eyes can think Palace are deservedly picking up the trophy. They were fucking turd from minute 1. They’ve benefited from arguably the worst VAR decision we’ve ever seen, certainly in such an important game. Their keeper, who should have been having a bath, has then saved a pen and they’ve played anti-football for the entire match. Fuck VAR and fuck Palace, the jammy cunts.

Thought Palace were shit I expected a really good football final was disappointed with Palace Do I feel cheated yeah because everyone thinks Henderson should have been SO no one is saying otherwise Yes Pep fucked up his biggest crime is changing the team that was post Erling injury
