Shame about the result, the henderson call was obvs shite but we had plenty of chances to win it after that, missed a pen, players taking on too many touches before shooting.

I did like the look of Echeverri tho and tbh he probs should of come on a lot sooner as he was lively in his movement.

Clearly the end of the current era and we are going to see some big turn over in the summer, actually looking forward to the CWC as I expect we'll get the young/new lads a decent amount of match time.

Marmoush and Haaland were very poor today, but they were squeezed immensely by the style of the game.

I thought, not for the first time recently, O'Reilly was lackadaisical and a bit ponderous, which sadly for him manifested in messing up a golden opportunity to shoot/score.

Overall we created chances to win it, at least one if not two of: Haaland acrobatic lunge, penalty, Doku top corner, OReilly switching feet and Echeverris golden chance, should have gone in

I feel for Nunes too, to be shunted out of the team by Akanji.

Palace's day, but that Henderson decision will rankle for some time.

And they may have attacked and scored straight away if the pen had gone in.. it didn't so they didn't have to. Our lack of creativity..Doku aside..was anti football. We did have a few chances by sheer brute force..Nico..use both feet ffs! Palace defended a pretty inept forward line pretty well but were poor when they had it themselves. Haaland cant head ..one trick pony for me.. great at chasing punt over the top..play 4: 5: 1 sit deep and counter if you want to get a tune out of. KdB legs went last season! All in all a pretty poor cup final for any neutral and our fans..in all blocks today were so poor..club is slowly drifting to chelsea style upper mid table team

He’s a transition player. Brilliant in a counter attacking team. Which Frankfurt are. We are not that. So he’s looking out of place

I think if Haaland had stopped and appealed it would’ve been a sending off. Doesn’t excuse var mind. I’d say ridiculous decision but we all know that’s not the right word.

Diaz was a top class defender.
So was Stones,as was Laporte.
They all played a big role.
Not gonna waste time listing other decent signings as there are more.

It was a decision between players (and maybe Pep) and we live with it. Don’t denigrate players for decisions unless you KNOW FOR A FACT what you’re talking about.

Diaz was a top class defender.
So was Stones,as was Laporte.
They all played a big role.

But cannot rely on any of them to form a stable defence

I'll make a few points:

1. Our style of play is turning me off watching us play. It is difficult, I know this, to constantly play against two banks of five. But to continue with the same attack formations as we do is criminal.

2. As a follow on to above. We don't do anything surprising anymore. We have a team of brainwashed players following orders like religious nutters. On 99.5 minutes Doku is on the left, then checks back, then runs across the full area and passes it to Foden on the right, who does the same and loses the ball. What the actual fuck!!? There is literally no plan B for any scenario.
Pep is seriously damaging the assets the club has invested billions in.

3. Pep.... Good grief. He's heading in the same direction as Syd Barrett. A genius that is sinking into a mental fugue.
His continuation of the same style of play is going to damage the club. Maybe things change with new recruits, who knows. But I'm not convinced anymore by his decision making. The current problems go back a full year to the last fa Cup final against utd. Players that were brought in are not playing. Underperforming players are, and being played constantly.
He must get the players he feels he needs because if he doesn't we are going to be in for a bad 2026.
His line ups and subs (if he makes them) are a mess.

4. Folk saying this is just a blip need to pipe clean their brains. Utd are 1 place above relegation this season. Do you think they saw that coming when they had their 1st blip?
Blips have a tendency to turn into tidal waves. Once the quality drops, it is very difficult to get it back. I firmly believe Liverpool have only made it back to the top on the back of spying on our acquisition plans. If they hadn't, I can assure you they wouldn't have been where they are now. Don't dismiss a blip. It is the first sign of trouble. And we are now on our 20th blip this season.

5. I worry that the players have lost their belief in Pep. And looking from the outside, I can see their point. Foden drops off a cliff. Grealish can't get a game, wingers stop using their natural ability, slow old players not performing but getting full games, injured players being rushed back, players playing well out of position, haaland goal machine is broken. I can guarantee professional footballers don't like being made to look shit in front of millions of people. There will be serious words had if we don't get top 5. I think the players will blame Pep and may force him out.

6. Owners have a massive decision to make on investment and the future team structure. Its easy to look smooth and cool when we are top of the world, but we got beat today by a team I would rate only slightly higher than the Watford team we destroyed 6 zero.
Things are not looking so easy to sort out anymore.

We are too honest, i said the same thing why didnt we make a big deal of it and force them into being embarassed by not giving it. Now it will be wiped from history for the media darling Palace fans and their fucking drum. No doubt they'll fill 3 tiers for once next season when they turn up.
