Apparently he didn't even train for 6 months before he joined us ? Strange that he was throwing in the deepened straight away if true and not a bit of English either.

Not even on the bench.. maybe the shampoo thing is true..

Seriously he was player of the month and now he can't even get on the bench??

Totally disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion, although it is wrong.
Dias and Gvardiol arguably 2 best players at the club this season. Khusanov looked sharp before he disappeared and then you obviously have your likes of Ake and Stones who can't stop getting injured. Not sure what's happening with Vitor Reis either.

But no Dias is far from finished and definitely not on a dramatic decline

It wasn't but my point was he shouldn't be getting a look in because nobody should.

That back 4 is the reason we're winning games, I love Pep but he was wrong to change it today.
Not sure that the this Back 4 is the main reason for recent wins???

Kush was the best defender in a very poor team overall, when he played!!!

With Nunes at that time a willing, but very poor defender!! :0(

The boy was having to defend and anticipate for two defensive roles every game, he played.

Also the recent results could have easily have been different against Forest in the Cup and against Wolves in the League, especially if you consider the number of times they both hit the woodwork!!!

Give the Lad a chance, a top quality player is in there, City need to directly support him when he plays and indirectly help with the players around him doing their job properly!!! IMO :0)

Nothing to do with age, he can't play full back, so that leaves him fighting for 2 positions.

So that leaves centre back and he isn't as good as Dias, Gvardiol, Akanji and even Ake and Stones when they're fit.

If Ake and Stones could stay fit then we wouldn't have even signed Khusanov and that's the honest truth.
He is here because Stone’s and Ake aren’t fit , and as they get older, this will remain an issue!!

John Stones appearances this season have been minimal or pretty much non existent!!

If JS was a Racehorse?? He would have been put out to a grassy paddock, by now !!! :0(

Who says that in time he can’t play RB???

Or that we might not play with 3 CB’s next season??!!!

And at CB this season he was exposed too often by the whole team, not defending properly and often by Dias or Akanji, not being fully fit when returning to the team and not supporting him properly!! :0(

He is a defender that can and likes to defend!! :0)

Nothing wrong with that IMO :0)

I would keep him and play him into form and confidence :0)

What is it costing us? Our defence is as stable as it ever has been this season in the past 6 weeks.

We’re playing slow, pragmatic football that up until today has won us a series of matches back to back.

The defence didn’t concede again today. Khusanov wouldn’t have made any difference to that.
Saturday’s game we didn’t concede!!!

It’s bottom of the table, relegated before Easter Southampton, no medals or trophies for not conceding!!!

I could have played in defence or in Goal on Saturday and we still wouldn’t have conceded a goal!!!

Our Defence may have been stable recently, but that doesn’t hide the fact that we are still conceding too many chances to the opposition in every game, how many times have teams hit the woodwork against us!!!

And Palace were 2 nil up against us recently and could/should have been more!!!

Kush can make a difference to that on Saturday against Palace in a back 3 with Dias and Guardiol with Nunes and O’Reilly as wing backs to try and pin back their two full backs?? IMO :0)

Not sure we’re about to change to 5 defenders.

We shall see!

Look, next season is a different story, I haven't got a clue what he's going to do but all rumours suggest he wants full backs, I don't really want centre backs at full back at all, very few have the ability to invert well or put a great ball into the box, I don't think Khusanov is the exception.

Khusanov can fight for his spot next season at centre half, Gvardiol is a lock though, so that leaves him up against Dias, and whoever stays out of Akanji, Ake and Stones. Of course there will be rotation in cup games for opportunities etc...

For the rest of this season we wont see him, unless Fulham (A) is meaningless. It'll be Nunes or Akanji right back, again don't want centre halves there but Pep doesn't have a choice atm, it'll be Dias, Akanji or Gvardiol centre back and O'Reilly or Gvardiol left back.

My preference is to keep the back 4 that has turned our form around, Nunes-Dias-Gvardiol-O'Reilly and bring Akanji on to sure things up at any point.

I suspect he, Reis and Bah were bought with a view to the future but Khusanov was also able to help out during our CB injury crisis. Ake, Stones and possibly Akanji will most likely leave this Summer or next and those new players were brought in early to learn and be ready for when that happens.

We now seem to have good CB options for the future and this coming window could hopefully solve our CM and possibly FB problems. We already look in good shape up front and out wide. We're basically rebuilding pretty much the whole squad over a couple of season to give a blend of experience and youth.

As to how much Khusanov will play next season, a lot will depend on who leaves this Summer, form and injuries. His time will come though as long as he is patient and uses the time to learn.

He was sitting there watching the likes of Akanji or O'Reilly "defend" wondering what the hell has he done wrong. Been brilliant for us and his reward is warming the bench(or the stands) for nearly 3 months.
