So very strange. Even stranger because he is a perfect Pep CB. Can defend on the half way line and also cover balls in behind the RB.
Akanji has been poor all season, irrespective of his injury or not. No way would I have started him yesterday. Definitely needed a defender, Khusanov would nave fitted the bill, especially as O'Reilly had a bit of a stinker. He was sitting there watching the likes of Akanji or O'Reilly "defend" wondering what the hell has he done wrong. Been brilliant for us and his reward is warming the bench(or the stands) for nearly 3 months.
Not sure what the point of the January transfer window was when Pep refuses to play the majority of players bought.
Makes you think he's saving these players for the Club World Cup and the start of next season, but who knows with Pep?Not sure what the point of the January transfer window was when Pep refuses to play the majority of players bought.
He would have done nothing yesterday in that team in that system. Would have just stood where akanje was recycling the ball. A sentence i thought id never say but nunes for akanje early second half would have been the best move. Palace barely attacked us at least nunes might have got beyond the winger or even whipped a half decent ball in as akanjes use of the ball was awful esp the odd time he “crossed” it in
Surely you meant to say " the odd time he banged it into the upper tier"???He would have done nothing yesterday in that team in that system. Would have just stood where akanje was recycling the ball. A sentence i thought id never say but nunes for akanje early second half would have been the best move. This might be the stupidest thing I have ever readWhen you're frozen out like he has been there's normally no way back. I expect he will be sold in the summer.
As things stand, with two games remaining, we shelled out 113 million GBP for three players (Khusanov, Reiss, Gonzalez) who have been given a combined 1,600 minutes between them. That’s a mere 8,125 GBP per minute…Right now I can’t see how he’s getting back into the team. If everyone’s fit he doesn’t start and we’ll probably be signing a right back and another centre back.
Did pep actually want any of these January signings?
Theres a lot of competition around at the moment TBHThis might be the stupidest thing I have ever read
