Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

2 years ago, the penalty miss and the red card going against us wouldn't have made a difference, we'd of battered them 3 or 4-1. KDB, bernardo legends but finished at this level. Akanji not good enough, Ortega not good enough, savinho going backwards with each performance, gundo too old. This team is done the drop off has been severe. The older players no longer have the desire to keep winning it's simply not there. We won't fix this in 1 summer imo.

Wrong substitution. I would have tried Grealish, at least he’s prepared to take a man on. Foden won’t do that anymore, heaven knows why he’s turned into a back pass player.
Maybe drummed out of him by crab football pg likes this season
Should? Give it a rest…and it’s “should have, penalties.” I’ll leave that there.

It was a decision between players (and maybe Pep) and we live with it. Don’t denigrate players for decisions unless you KNOW FOR A FACT what you’re talking about.
Ok big boy

After that shite I have little enthusiasm for Tuesday or next Sunday. I don’t give a toss if losing out on the greed league costs us x amount, no fucks given. Today was about silverware with the world watching. We went missing. Of course pigmob cheated but we still had plenty of time to turn it around. If we are to build for the future without Pep then the sooner that starts the better.

We need to vary the tactics, we're utterly predictable 95% of the time and rarely make rapid progress up the pitch as far as the opposition box. It's so frustrating to see us pull up time after time and start passing the ball sideways and backwards while the oppostion defence gets itself into position.
That instruction has to come from Pep. it occurs too many times for it not to be true. it makes you wonder whether he really is lost for ideas. His constant tinkering of the team has halted our recent progress.

Imagine the vitriol if Pep had played Lewis today.
The whole team needs a season off given the amount of trophies they have won in the past several years.

Diaz was a top class defender.
So was Stones,as was Laporte.
They all played a big role.
Not gonna waste time listing other decent signings as there are more.
You're obviously pissed off and not thinking clearly.

Walker's pace and to cover the back line help all our defenders and make them better defenders

Akanji putting crosses straight out of touch at 75 mins GET FUCKING NUNES ON YOU KNOW THE PLAYER WHOS PLAYED RIGHT BACK FOR THE PAST 6 WEEKS. Grealish stood there gutted after the game wondering why an 18 year old who has never played a single minute before for us came on in a cup final for his debut, taking silva off who was our best player on the pitch all game when Ken didn’t string a single pass all game. Pep got it all fucking wrong today:

You show me how you know he “chickened out” of taking the pen and I’ll STFU.

I’ll wait. Tick tock.

A confident striker would have fought for the ball rather than hand it to anyone else. With Haaland's goalscoring record, nobody would have dared argue with him.

Balotelli or Yaya would have told Marmouch to fuck off if he'd even thought about taking a penalty before them.

Haaland effectively 'bottled out' of the penalty. At Wembley... in a cup final... in front of a worldwide audience.

Shithouse.

The Grammar Police are here again!

Barlow?

The only thing I can say about that game today is that i expected it to happen ..... it's just been a really poor season, and even a Champions League place now, should we get one, isn't gonna lighten the mood up .... you could see Palaces game plan right from the very start, and , 'as usual' we were just full of 'huff n Puff', without adding anything of any real value.

A million passes mean absolutely nothing if we can't make at least one of them really count.
I liked the idea of working the ball so we could create doku 1 v 1 thats the only tactic that was evident ... Haaland fkin hell if he's not chasing a ball over the top..then he's pointless..certainly cant head it..
