Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

It pains me to say this, it was great while it lasted but Pep’s brand of football looks tired and seems well past its B.B.E. Date.
Said it time and time again.

This possession based football is dead in the water.

It's easy to defend, gives time for the opposition to get set in 2 banks of 5.

It's so counter productive. We play into the opponents hands.

Fast, direct, risky football is the way forward.
Pace and power has taken over the luxury of technical players who have a good you tube compilation.

That’s how I saw it. Was happy to get the pen call but I didn’t think it was one and would have been upset had it been given against us. Replay showed defender didn’t touch the ball but Silva was going to ground before the contact. Not saying the officials purposefully gave it nor is it an equaliz(s)ing event for a keeper red.
But how do you not give it for a player anticipating contact when it goes on all around the pitch? The holding of faces when there’s clearly no contact, the ‘ head’ injuries which used to just be blocking the ball. The game has turned into a game of acting, gamesmanship and it’s there for the world to see. Really is the emperor’s new clothes.

Thought we played well 1st half and a scandalous decision stopped us from possibly winning. Pep was poor with his subs . But I’m still fuming about that Red decision

You can't be missing penalties playing the style of football we play. Any style of play really, but we aren't making enough real chances outside of those. Everything else is secondary to that. I hope Palace enjoy their night. I hope Pep has a plan for Tuesday and next season. We look tired and easily managed currently.

What would happen if our players did push up past 10 yards into the opposition half?! Pep plays to coach his team, so the opposition camp in their penalty area. Why can't he coach his team so the opposition don't camp in their penalty area? Why doesn't Pep work endlessly to figure it out instead of being obsessed with stopping transitions?

He needs an assistant who questions his decisions at least.. since we lost Arteta and marescca nothing new is happening!
