Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

I'm not one for dwelling on decisions but that's about as horrific as it gets. Seeing all this talk about whether it's an obvious goal scoring opportunity, firstly a striker is about to knock the ball past the keeper for a free shot at an open goal from inside the box, that's as obvious as it gets. but regardless of that, it's completely irrelevant, nowhere in the rules does this obvious debate exist.

Var has one job there, to decide whether the keeper has handled outside the box or not. He very clearly has and so it's a simple red card, there's nothing else to consider. its an open and shut decision with no debate. You will not see a more corrupt decision, if it's not corruption then they should all be sacked with immediate effect as they're clearly woefully inept.

Clarification needed here:
If an outfield player deliberately pushes the ball wide of an incoming striker with his hand, thus preventing the striker in on goal with only the keeper to beat, would it be a red card.
If so, this negates any factor that Palace defender could have got back on the line.

That’s it exactly there’s no subjectivity, no mm’s to measure fleas pubes. Just fucking apply the laws of the game you bent ****.

So that's what its come down too. We need a sending off to help put Crystal Palace to bed. How the mighty have fallen.
That's a good point.
Maybe if we play a top half of the premier league team we should start with all our defenders and goalkeeper on a yellow card.
Bottom of the premier league every one of our players starts with a yellow card.
If we play a championship team we should start on -1 goals, a league 1 team -2 goals just to keep it fair.
After all why should we have to beat a team playing to the same rules as us, that seems a little unfair according to you.
Personally I think the rules of the game should be applied fairly and equally to both teams but if you feel a handicap system is better then I'd love to hear your argument.

Even Wayne Rooney said Attwell should have been waving a red card and VARs explanation was "bollocks"

we lost because we couldn't break down a mid-table PL team. Same problem against Southampton the shittest team that ever played in the PL.

We did break down them down & the keeper handled the ball outside the box to stop a goal. The LOTG say red.

Its happened in every round of the cup, where the laws haven’t been applied evenly & it’s bullshit.

I don't even need to imagine. I have zero doubt Ortega would have gone had it been the other way round.

Everybody wins this way (apart from us obviously). The sycophants get their fantastic underdog story, the big bad ‘serial cheats’ get their comeuppance. I don’t expect we will hear anything about an absolutely huge botched decision that 100% decided the outcome of this game again after a day or two, it’ll be airbrushed from history.

Although I don’t begrudge Palace the win, they can also fuck right off.
