Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

Even Wayne Rooney said Attwell should have been waving a red card and VARs explanation was "bollocks"
I cant blame Atwell for that, it's not an easy thing to spot in real time, don't think many fans saw it either to be fair. but var there's no excuse, they've got still images of him pushing the ball away very clearly well out of his box.

if there was such a thing as a refs exam, that would be the dream starter question. I could show that image to my 6yr old nephews football team and they'd all be able to tell you it's a red card without hesitation.

I hope we launch a full blown media assault, i want a club statement demanding an explanation, its not going to change anything and might even make us look bitter but this cannot be allowed to just die. There has to be consequences for such ineptitude (at best.) you pick any other profession and somebody that incapable of doing their job would lose it very quickly. And that's before you realise these are supposedly the very best the profession can offer.

Don’t hold your breath, and that Johnson bloke on ESPN the PGMOL apologist will have already written his justification

Everybody wins this way (apart from us obviously). The sycophants get their fantastic underdog story, the big bad ‘serial cheats’ get their comeuppance. I don’t expect we will hear anything about an absolutely huge botched decision that 100% decided the outcome of this game again after a day or two, it’ll be airbrushed from history.

Although I don’t begrudge Palace the win, they can also fuck right off.
TBF the ref and VAR were a lot less pro Palace than BBC ITV SKY etc, the outcome was more predictable than the royal rumble

I’m incredibly pissed off atm so my judgment is at best questionable.

But while the game was on I thought city should release a statement if we lost denouncing the PGMOL Twatwell and every other **** official involved in that decision and make it clear if them officials were to be involved in one of our games in future we would simply boycott the game.

Then see what the powers that be do.

It’s beyond a joke how many huge decisions go against us and have done for years across European and domestic competitions.

They hate us, they hate our owners and they want us to lose.
They’re cheats.
Spurs handball Champions League, classic example.

This year’s final will forever be remembered as The Atwell Final

Spineless little ****. Flamboyantly and pointlessly booking their keeper, who’d been shamelessly time wasting for 90 minutes by then, as we entered injury time summed up what a biased corrupt **** he is.

Gillette on VAR has a LOT of ‘splainin to do and I’ve no doubt Webb has an excuse ready IF anyone even bothers to ask!

Media, and British football apparently, got the result they wanted, so no-one will be in a hurry to even suggest Henderson should have been sent off and a free kick given on the edge of the box!

He booked Henderson for time wasting. It took longer for him to stop the game, book him and restart the game than Henderson had wasted and then he added 12 secs onto the 10 minutes. Piss take.

Long past time for the clock to be stopped for all to see on a stadium clock. The time wasting of certain clubs is ruining the sport…amongst other things!

Also, time for the refs to wear a body cam and be mic’d up. The dissent is off the scale and real men playing a hard nosed game like rugby manage to not call each other and the refs cunts and fucking shit. Rugby player got TWELVE GAME BAN for calling someone a **** on the field.

Time to get back to football.

Don’t hold your breath, and that Johnson bloke on ESPN the PGMOL apologist will have already written his justification

Tbf to him, he wrote this:

"Verdict: There have been only two VAR red cards for DOGSO this season -- for Arsenal's William Saliba (Gillett was the VAR) and Myles Lewis-Skelly -- and this surely should have been a third.

The only reason the ball was going away from goal was because Henderson had illegally pushed it that way.

Without Henderson's handball, Haaland would have been able to knock the ball past him, and the actions of the goalkeeper have to tick the boxes for DOGSO.

The only possible doubt is whether Haaland's touch would definitely have taken the ball past the goalkeeper. But we will never know, because Henderson prevented him from being able to do so. There should have been an intervention."

Important, because he doesn't write without getting the answer from PGMOL first.

I'm sure in a couple of days time they will admit they got the decision wrong. Just you watch
They will never admit it. I would not be surprised if it just quietly went away and was never spoken about again in the media. Weird how exactly the opposite seems to happen when those Scouse rats or the Rags are 'wronged' by VAR.

Yet again we've been below par and the chance has been there to do us over and the officials delivered.
I've said it so many times over the last 10 years. We have to be at our absolute best in order to prevent the officials the opportunity to fuck us over. The amount of times we've seen the ref get in the passing lanes, blow for nothing fouls against us or wave play on for us when the chance has already gone and then don't pull the play back when nothing transpires. The disparity in the application of the LOTG in some of our games has been utterly blatant. I remember David Silva getting kicked up and down the park, and then getting penalised for the slightest touch on a defender.

Will City be putting in a complaint?

Would love them to, but not sure there's any point. Won't change anything, most football fans around the country will have loved us getting screwed over.

It's up to the manager and the team to create an absolute siege mentality in that dressing room and come out every week with a huge chip on their shoulders to hammer all comers, but we are doing a piss poor job of it at the moment.

That dressing room is crying out for a Vincent Kompamy or a Fernandinho type. Best we've got is Ruben Dias who is all soundbite and no bark :(
