City fans were boisterous as hell in the pubs, on Wembley way, in the concourse, in many ways more than most other finals. Bit when faced with that constant hum of noise from their end kind of gave up early in the game. Nothing was spreading.
It wasn’t a surprise really. Once we missed the pen, I think everyone knew what was coming. The fact our fans celebrated a VAR decision like that highlighted that we definately knew at 2/0 down it was game over the way we were playing.

100% as soon as we got in the stadium it died. Me and a couple of lads around me kept trying to get chants going but the miserable fuckers around us just sat there mute. Does my fucking head in

Any idea what happened in the singing 1894 section? I was top tier and couldn’t hear much at all coming from behind the goal but it just may not carry. I don’t know.

Some strange dynamics in the bottom tier. I was 3/4 to the back of 111 and I could not hear the 1894 group maybe 20 rows in front of me. Not a criticism of them but how the noise travelled.

There’s no point having a “singing section” at the front of the bottom tier because all the sound drifts upwards to nowhere. Songs ad Wembley start in the upper tier but today there weren’t enough of that.

Strange the singers don’t choose the top tier at the back. Cheap tickets and would get the whole top tier going. It was poor today.

Completely agree, I'd like to see them try and implement a singing section in one of the upper tier blocks, whenever we next get to Wembley. The sound from the upper tier travels through the end.

Even today, on the few occasions the whole end did sing in unison, it came from the upper tier

Were they trying ? Just didn’t hear anything but could hear those palace lot at the bottom. Maybe the drum helped that.

Yes they were but I don’t think enough were getting involved. It did not help it was like a pit in there. Sun blazing down, packed like sardines and a lot of dehydrated people. Very reminiscent of Istanbul.

Also the choice of songs left a lot to be desired. The only two song which resonated were blue moon, and best team in the land of all the world. The rest won’t travel or involve people in other blocks.

108 was decent. Got loads of songs going despite the slow, sloth like, turgid football we had to endure.
Left home at 7.30am, back at 10.30pm. A fantastic 15 hour day out, meeting with family and friends, only tainted by the lacklustre performance on the pitch.
We never win at home and we never win away.

I watched the game in a pub in Kefalonia and a family all wearing City gear got up and left for their dinner with 15 minutes to go. WTF!!!!
This made me chuckle, would fit right in amongst our home support.

If you don't laugh you'd cry. It's a long expensive day getting to and from that shithole the FA had built.

Weren’t the tickets at the back £125?

Just means less take up at the end of the day, that’s why only 300 out of the 600 who put their name forward actually bought tickets.

Anyway, we were just beaten for atmosphere today. Their songs carried well and every single one of their fans were up for it good and proper. Ours were mostly drinking from 7Am/8AM on coaches and sweltering on the bottom tier. It was a mosh mash of songs when we tried to get it going, with multiple sections singing something else at once. That wasnt helped by the constant noise from the other end.

Bottom line, there were a few mitigating factors but they were far, far louder than any group of supporters we’ve faced at Wembley before.

The Barca twins have systematically eroded our hardcore fanbase. It is now fragmented to the point of not having much identity. A little bit like the team at the moment.
Know what you’re saying but there was a large majority of fans from Manchester there today IMO. Seemed that way from where I was sat anyway.

Palace fans were good today, maybe they’ll be able to sell more than 1000 tickets at away games outside of London next year.
Give them the credit they deserve without the snide comments. If we’d made that noise today I would be proud of our fanbase.

I meant back of top tier £50.
