Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

I can't deny, I'm pleased for Palace. For their fans it's massive and they will be celebrating it for years to come.
Your fellas will be back next year winning trophies, no big loss really given your recent successes.from the short time I've been on this forum and my trip to Manchester, your Fans seem solid to me, don't think you'd begrudge them their moment.
Disappointed of course (tstl) but congrats to Palace: savour your first major trophy. It was a good game to watch for a neutral and, while the Henderson handball, and the officials’ failure to penalise it, was no doubt crucial to the final outcome, as a City fan of 60-odd years I can live with it. Hopefully, as you suggest (and as I believe) we will be back amongst the trophies next year. Good luck to the Toffees too, except when they play us!

Foden has had a dire season, he did nothing again today. Having said that for so many players to fall off a cliff all points back to the manager.
He's been completely anonymous but it wasn't a foden specific example, it happened to be him then but throughout the season it's been every single player, they all do it. it's the players following instructions, shit ones.

Until we start striking the ball and getting crosses in, rather than trying to pass it into the net, nothing will change.

Doubt she will see this but as my son was crying his eyes out at full time and, as I tried to comfort him, the sympathetic look from a fellow blue in Block 109 really meant a lot. Just so she knows that, after a long while, and a bit of Indian food(!), he did cheer up and we were able to have a laugh on the last leg of the journey home

The amount of times Akanji received the ball by Savinho/ Foden and massively slowed down our game or yeeted the ball into the stands was ridicolous. There needs to be a creative player in that position who can create chances or cross the ball! How does Pep not see that?!
Was crying out for Nunes instead of Akanji

Arguably an attacking line up on paper but totally bereft of real creativity pace or goal threat. Haaland bottled taking that pen and that’s a big issue

Abysmal end to the season. Kudos and congratulations to Crystal Palace - I can imagine how happy their fans must be so good luck to them.

VAR has proven again to be a fucking joke but we were yet again shyte - Pep's Team Management has yet again been shit, his subs have been shit again - how the fuck KDB stayed on for the full match is beyond me. How the hell he didn't bring on Grealish but instead he brings on Gundogan and takes Silva off. Foden's been shit again too.

Only have ourselves to blame - don't get me started on the penalty, what the fuck was that all about.

Our one shot to finish with a major trophy and Pep and the Team fucked it again. Can't wait for the season to be over and for the wholesale changes to come.

CITY ARE BACK! :)

“Yet again” doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

I presume the other player is Bobb who has somehow become a superstar in his absence. excuses ,excuses ,excuses. You adapt to compensate for these absences not continue playing the same shite every week and hoping it somehow clicks.
Thats exactly what we did when Pep joined. Being twatted by Everton, Leicester, anyone. Same "tiki taka" football every game we lost. We stuck to our guns, kept the same style until the players got used to it (A full season I think it took), and in the end it paid off massively.

Next season we will see. If we are not clicking during next season, then either Pep has been "Found out", the players he chooses arent good enough, or Pep's knackered/bored etc.

I think then is the time to make a change (Not suggesting you are saying that), but not now when we could be on the cusp of what we have gone on to do before. For me anyway.

Haaland picked the ball up, kissed it, but the prolonged delay as that cheating bastard on VAR tried to find a reason to overrule the penalty seemed to unnerve him. Shit as we were the PIGMOB bastards played their part.

Mate I’m sorry that’s not a reason for him to not take that pen

I'll give Doku a pass, as he looked involved all the game but that's about all.
Bernardo worked his bollocks off as usual and was our best player -the 2 wingers failed -Savinho dismally -Doku slightly less dismal -but neither are good enough to be other than squad players and here we are depending on them to create for us -and guess what??

The re-build can’t come soon enough -we need a complete re-set -cos this type of performance just isn’t good enough

Akanji is bang average, on the ball all afternoon, did my fucking brain in, shoehorned back into the side in a heartbeat, don’t get it
He’s so cumbersome, it’s almost docile. If he’s playing next season, then we are stuffed, one of about 12 that need to go.
