Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

Lost by 1 goal to Wigan.
Lost by 1 goal to the Rags.
Lost by 1 goal to Palace.

Let's be brutally honest, City should have 3 more FA Cups on their honours board.

As for losing FA Cup semi-finals (under Pep), don't get me started on that.

Another very disappointing FA Cup final defeat.

I mentioned the same thing about the penalty yesterday.
He really didn't want to give it and then the amount of time he made Omar wait wasn't an accident.
Even Haaland cottoned onto it by waving his arms and yelling at the ref to get on with it.
Like i've said officials are only humans, but as so must read the media which is permanently negative against all things Manchester City.
There must be a connection, just in the same way the rags get ludicrous decisions go for them (the Bournemouth red card being the latest one) being media darlings.
It needs sorting out if only for the integrity of the sport.

Yes, at best it's an unconscious bias and at worse conscious. The Everton penalty in the last minute being overturned at Goodison Park earlier in the season against the rags is a fine example. No way on earth that is overturned if it was the rags awarded a penalty at the swamp when going for a winner. You can't convince me otherwise. They could have been in a genuine relegation scrap this season without the bias towards them from the officials. Like the camera angle at Klanfield they didn't have in the FA Cup that time for the offside. Didn't require a fucking camera anyway as he was yards off. Bizarre that happened after all the games that had been played there and the issue had never surfaced before, but coincidentally it occurs when there's a genuine threat of them being eliminated from the competition.

City are seen as a soft touch and easy to give a terrible decision against. Only have to look at the bile on social media with everybody agreeing it was a sending off, but at the same time finding it hilarious as it was City. Be outrage if it was the other way round and Palace would have been 'robbed' by the dirty, oil money, 115 cheats. Imagine that happening against the dippers (it wouldn't of course), but Twatwell would be hounded, probably be receiving death threats and never ref another of their games again.

yep
just do something different than going wide and cutting back and going back into midfield

it's so predictable and teams want you going wide all the time because they train to defend Pep's setup
We don't or players aren't allowed to play on the fly and do something different,

Doku could go down the middle or take the ball from a midfielder and run at the 2 centre backs
It's a team with zero confidence. The effort from the attacking players is borderline cowardice - I don't want to try something myself as it might not work, so I'll give it back to the centre halves. It's been happening all season - against Arsenal at home, we kept giving the ball to Dias and it was no different yesterday with him and Akanji.

Doku is the only player to ever try and take anyone on, it just then rarely comes to anything when he does, although I'll question the other attackers for that in part, as no one ever attacks the near post so any cross has to beat defenders and keeper.

David Silva, or KdB and Gundogan a few years ago would make the passes that split a defence; Bernardo could jink past people and force a foul if he didn't get through. Now we just pass it across the back and then to our side of the winger, meaning he has to collect the ball and then try and beat the defender. The lack of proper fullbacks doesn't help, as whilst Walker was shit at crossing, as least him overlapping caused opposition defenders a problem.

There's big issues with the quality of the current squad, but I'd also question the tactics - a manager has to make the most of what is available to him and we're miles off that.

The shitshow season, the apathy of the regular real fans, the constant ticketing and tkt office shambles, the new fans that are only with us for success, the danger of the £300m+ white elephant.........I suppose all that means the club know they have to go big and deep in the transfer window.
So that's some crumb.

Your right..
Winning is a drug, and when you have to come off the drugs, the wheels fall off
I feel everybody's pain, there is no right or wrong, or somebody is to blame ? its just football, it's gone, so move on

We know how Manchester City has to win silverware, the match officials will never be on our side and will fuck us over, So we have to take our chances and take them out of the game, Yes, yesterday hurts because the officials, but its not taking our chances and killing the game that cost us.

Pep will be banking up all the doubters and haters into his brain, He knows how the media and pundits will have to eat humble pie sooner rather than later when Manchester City win more silverware. He loves to prove doubters are wrong about him,
Spot on mate.

It’s been great, far more than we could have hoped for.

Let’s do it again? -:)

Disappointed, yep. Gutted, nope.
I’m still not over ‘81 though. How times have changed.

We are far too easy to play against, have been all season and the signs were there last season. It's also dull as fuck to watch, ponderous lateral passing....FUCKING BORING!! Go for teams FFS, pace and energy instead 30 passes and end up nowhere.
Makes my Piss boil when players are throwing their arms in the air for the fans to encourage them!?!? Give us something to get excited about you failing twat.
If anyone thinks next year will be different it will not. As long as we stick to this drudgery style of play fuck all will change. Arrogantly playing players out of position is staggering and constantly doing things that are not working is idiotic.
This isn't just about yesterday the signs have been there for all to see.

Marmoush oh dear
Doku no end product
Silvinho always on his arse
Other wonderful players are coming to the end, KDB, Gundo, Bernado
The real horror show is fodens decline.
Doku showed courage yesterday..had his full back (s) on toast ..just cant kick a ball really..that shot! From a professional!! Really amazing how far a few key attributes can take you in todays game

He was fine, although I nearly lobbed my phone at the tele when he took that last shot.

And the media backing the dippers wanting of a replay vs Spurs.
It really is well and truly fucked football these days.
you could start a new season with a pen and paper and write down the names of teams that will be shafted by 'rules' and decisions and then names of teams that will benefit from them.
You would soon see patterns emerging season after season

But if we had equalused.from the spot .then Palace would have attacked us at least 4 x in what 70 mins? = probably 2 more goals to them!

Why as a club do we sit back and take it? We should be on to Howard Webb and his cronies and demand that Twatwell never sets foot in a football stadium again.
If it was the dippers there would be a big outcry and a day of mourning followed by Twatwell getting death threats and his house being torched with no consequences for the feral scum
