Morgan Gibbs-White

This is a big issue with many of you. You think we are going to replace KDB. We aren’t. It’s impossible. We’ve had one of the best players ever to grace the league, let alone the club. Whoever we sign it will be a lesser player.

Does that mean doom and gloom? No. I happen to think his energy will be beneficial and then it’s up to Pep to make it work in an adaption. He’s a very good player. KDB is above that. They are no more KDBs. We’ve had him his entire top level career.

Whoever we bring in we back.

I don’t know the issues with Grealish but he’s shown he can play central. With MGW maybe that can work?

People need to stop replacing KDB. It isn’t happening

Bringing in a player with "energy" to replace a player with genuine world class ability that can change a game in a split second is not going to cut it for us. We need better than that.

Grealish has had his time and he's not delivered. Time to shift him on.

There isn't a weird assumption at all.

If you want to be a serious club that is desperate to get back to winning titles, you go all out for the best you can get.

If you accept second or third best, you dont win the big prizes.

If that's what we have accepted now... let's just enjoy a top 4 battle every season ey. So much for ambition, eh.
You’re expecting the best want to come Here’s a wake up call, there are bigger clubs than us who players will want to go to.

Pep is used to the likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Rodri, KDB, prime Gundo, Schweinsteiger, Lahm or players with incredible engine line Arturo Vidal or Fernandinho proved at the highest level no disrespect to Wolves and Forest...

give him MGW and its like wanting a quality medium rare steak for dinner and get a pickled egg instead with a saveloy...

I'd love Rayan Cherki.

I'd rather Xavi Simons before MGW.

They are infinitely better footballers with better resume's.
It's pretty hard to say a player in Ligue 1 for Lyon is better than MGW.

Cherki has taken on a weird mythology on this site.

Furthermore, he hasn't been connected to Bayern or Madrid. People keep saying we need to be after the same talent Madrid goes after.

Both are closer to MGW than they are KDB. Cherki is not a pep player, he will burn all bridges and piss everyone off. He doesn't run off the ball, if he did then hed probably have already been signed. What MGW brings off the ball makes up for what Simons has over him on the ball.

If he doesnt want him, he knows who to call. So this bollocks about Pep being lumped with X, Y and Z is complete shite.

Pep signs off on what spoons are used in the canteen but Txiki and Viana have carte blanche to just spend millions on people they want.

What is a Pep player, a robot with no individuality?

Getting kinda bored of seeing a team of robotic players now passing sideways and backwards and not having the quality to win us a football match.

I just want to go back to enjoying watching us play again with entertainers.

We have signed David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure all before having won a Premier league title.

Don't make excuses for the board... they have to deliver this season.

We aren't lickle City anymore, we are a big team and one of the most successful teams in Europe over the past decade.

You’ve completely proven my point. We aren’t ‘likkle’ (grow up) City anymore. We are now with the elite. With that comes elite players choosing elite clubs. Wirtz, if that’s we are talking about, has chosen an elite club in his homeland over an elite club in a foreign land.

Your quote about those who we signed in the start of this, when we weren’t elite club, came here for money and the chance of success. Dint be fooled by that.

The standards are on the floor if we're trying to convince ourselves this guy's a good signing. We've gone from some of the greatest midfielders the Premier League has ever seen to guys that are just totally off the level.

We've gone from signing the top young talent in Europe with scope to develop to overpriced fodder in our league. Gibbs-White is 25 and has never played in Europe, has had one England cap and is in a team that plays a completely different style of football.

We should be doing better.
He's a quality player and is largely responsible for Forest's good season. He's got physicality and technique. He might not be world class like Duet or Lamine Yamal but players like that are not coming to City now. The task now is to rebuild a City side that can challenge for the title again.

We need a player who we know can play in the Premier League. We've taken risks with Marmoush, Khusanov, Gonzalez etc but we need a player who we can be almost certain will get double figures of assists and goals for City. MGW would do that.

I think what we have missed from Rodri is more than just his ability. It’s his drive and made others around him put that extra effort in.
Bernardo did that too but his recent comments suggest some are not going with him.
MGW adds that drive too.
We need 3 or 4 of that type of player imo

Rodri makes us as counter attack resistant as it is possible to be. He also dictates the flow of the game so we play with greater rhythm rather than how disjointed its been, even with great possession stats. His switches of play are invaluable against the low block and he adds goals. We miss him so much.

main issue he is great in a defensive side that almost never need to break down packed defences. Forest is very reactive, strong defence, much more focus on defending than attack. lot of 1-0 wins, good counterattacks as there is space for that and some quick wingers, MGW also good in that role too.

but for us that doesnt matter. its like us buying a fantastic shot stopper who is very poor with his feet. just not a good fit for Pep and City.

very similar to why Grealish looked great at that shit Villa side and looked nothing like that at City and coming not even close for that output here once. can see same for MGW, replacing his average 5 goals, 10 assist per season to 2 goals, 5 assist per season at City.
thats not enough if you are a regular in an attacking 8 role at City. unless you have Messi, Haaland, Salah front three lol.

A Pep player used to be players who were technically sound. Nowadays its someone who wont take risks :(

He's also able to play through the lines and over the defense. We've had Ruben Dias, kovacic and Akanji in those positions lately. Huge difference

Overatted english purple patch player.

My concern is he will go the same as Jack in the sense he might not be technical enough and too blood and thunder to play Pep football in the midfield, and because of it he will get shunted out to the wing.
