All our great players have played their last games at home at shit times. Yaya, Vinny and Zabba were all night games. Sergio was in front of only 10,000 fans due to covid and poor old David Silva had no fans at all, also down to covid. Tonight Kev says goodbye at yet another night game and the situation is made even worse for people wanting to get home after it by two concerts in town finishing around the same time, which will massively effect an already poor transport system.
Still embarrassing.
We can get annoyed over empty seat jibes and point to the cost of living, ticket pricing etc, but when fans are in the stadium and won't stay to the end to applaud arguably our greatest ever player its hard to defend.
Any other big club would have the ground full the the rafters until KDB went down the tunnel for the last time.

Think it would be a mistake to play Rodri.

Firstly it suggests panic. The rest of you are shite so I'm bringing back our best player who hasn't played since November. We've already brought two players after lengthy lay offs and it's disrupted the team.

Secondly it puts huge pressure on Rodri himself.

If he's half fit play him. No point worrying about next season if we don't get 4 points Rodri will be at Madrid in September anyway.

What's embarrassing about covid restrictions stopping people from attending games?

As for the KDB send of It's life. People have work, kids have school, people have last trains/buses to catch. He's been given standing ovations plenty of times over the last ten years and each time at games since it was announced he was leaving. Ideally it would have been a weekend game so everybody could stay and give him a rousing send off. Sadly it isn't so it will suffer as a result.

No point at this stage - He was the glue that held all the parts together.

We don't have the parts at the moment.

If it was a weekend game there'd still be people leaving early. Its an ingrained thing in City fans.

Who mentioned covid?

I’m more nervous for this match than the FA Cup final. Anyone else?

I noticed that when Pep was asked about Rodri, in the last presser, he didn’t say he was waiting on the doctors like he has ever since he came back into training.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Rodri featured at some point but it could have been nothing!
Definitely. I was confident of a relatively straightforward win on Saturday (look how that turned out), but tonight I can see us fucking up again.

Very weird feeling about tonight…
I was only a little disappointed at Wembley on Saturday, I told myself that we’ve been so lucky to visit the place 31 times and it was nice for a smaller team to win their first trophy after 120 years. I know we’ve won a few before 2011 but remember how that felt!
However, Saturday will feel a whole lot worse if we lose tonight. I wish we were comfortably clear in the top 5 to relax and give KDB the send off he deserves but we have to win first and foremost.

Anyway… we’re leaving at 3:30 (after work) for our usual 160 mile trip! Going to be a late one home tonight after the KDB celebrations. Usually get home around 2am after a night game, this could be 3 or 4. Fun day at work tomorrow!
That’s commitment fella. Fair play. I thought I was hard done to by having to drag myself from the bedroom to the lounge for a 3am kick off.

Ederson

Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
O'Reilly

Gonzalez
Gundogan
Silva

Marmoush
Haaland
Doku

I'd go with.
Close call between Akanji starting CB and moving Gvardiol to left back also.
De Bruyne on as sub for last 30 mins

I’m nervous because, in the long run, not finishing in the top 5 might fuck up our plans for next season regarding transfers.

I actually thought we would lose the final but not in the way we did. I still think we played OK and were unlucky.

I think we will win tonight but it will be very tight.

What I want:

Ederson
Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly
Foden Gonzalez Gundogan
Savinho Marmoush Grealish

What we'll get

Ederson
Akanji Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly
Lewis Bernardo Gundogan
De Bruyne Haaland Marmoush

If you think about it, while we all want win…

The most important thing is not to lose. That would be a disaster as it would not be in our hands anymore.

I fear several of the players heads have gone. Tonight's line up and ultimately performance will tell us if that's true or not. Everything is getting crossed.

Agree. Your first selection much more balanced
