Florian Wirtz

Scott McTominay has been Napoli's best midfielder and he's fucking shite so that tells you all you need to know about Serie A.

Foden, for as good as he's been, will never reach KDB levels. That's just delusion at it's finest.

Livramento is bang average.

Gibbs White is also bang average.

All well and good signing these players but where's the world class players to supplement them?
Foden was 12 months ago the POTY. I don't think we have a chance of signing Livramento. Forest are so palpably average but MGW who has put them into the top 6.

The money saved on Wirtz won’t upgrade the whole squad as some fantasists seem to think. We will have our pants pulled down by every other club we negotiate with who know we are desperate.

Starting with MGW - 25 years old and 2 England caps and dreadful goals assist record - yet the fee will be eye watering and take multiple bids before Forest would sell.

Anybody thinking we are gonna start pulling rabbits out of hats haven’t been paying attention to our car crash signings last 5 transfer windows.

And for City to start claiming moral high ground over value when most of the £200m we spent in January has hardly had a sniff of any action, and have just given a player a 9year £500k per week contract is a piss take.

It’s becoming an annual event that our first choice elite player option has no interest in joining. Might be an idea to try and understand why ? My guess it’s not hard for the rival clubs to smear us in their negotiations and the draw of Pep when he is close to leaving is not the same.

Savinho is 21 and played his first season in the Premier League. Like Doku he's not the finished article but he has something. Not all players are at their best aged 21. Some are e.g., Owen, Fowler, Foden, others develop but their talent at that age is obvious.

You shouldn't comment about football.
Can only go off what he’s shown so far, and currently what’s shown is a player who doesn’t pass and is shite in front of goal.

Yes and Kyle Walker won young player of the year instead of Aguero in 2012. It means nothing.

This season Foden has been piss poor but even at his best, he doesn't compete with KDB at his best.

If it's top 6 we're after MGW is the man. I just assumed our ambitions were greater than that

The dippers have done what we used to do? Win the title and stright away punch our opponents straight away with a new top signing that deflates them and their fans.
Correct. Whereas we've tried to do things on the cheap, signing average players and banking on the genius of Pep to get a tune out of them.

Perhaps City judged that he would be too expensive given there were other things we wanted to do. What Liverpool think they need is probably different to what City are planning for. Perhaps Wirtz preferred to play for the Champions? We are not ready-made champions. I feel Liverpool will struggle next season, Wirtz or no Wirtz, because Salah and Van Dijk are going to drag them down. Old players do not continue forever.

In fairness it’s pretty well reported that the dippers will be signing a couple of full backs as well this summer. Both clubs have a number of positions that need investment.

Not feeling in the least bit deflated, maybe when ur life is predicated on the opinions of children on the internet then u would be, but otherwise no

The fucking drama on here is obscene, has this Wirtz fella got a gold card in the panini pantheon of bestest ever players ever ever?

When schools out this thread is going to be a train wreck of epic proportions :)

Not too sure about Salah, but VVD has been suspect a number of times this season, lost his pace so getting beaten more often and should’ve had countless red cards.

Perhaps the maths doesn't work for City. Buy Wirtz at a huge cost you can't do much else. Buy MGW you buy a very effective player and can still do other things.
