Don’t think he will tbh. Liverpool are now on a roll and with this it strengthens them even more.I do admire him for turning down Bayern and not taking the easy choice
Now to make him regret his decision to join the Scouse and not God’s own
More interested to see what we do now. I think it will be a really interesting and successful window for us come the end of the window.

Like shiny toys as the next person but i can still digest when a player says no to move to Madrid or Barcelona or Munich.
The more concerning part is a title winning team getting super strong. The fullbacks have been replaced with new ones - who in their current teams were assist magnets and the fluid attack of Sane and Salah has been replaced by a KDB lite in midfield.
They are one Darwin Nunez replacement away from having the similar Team as Kloop’s peak.
City right now have a midfield problem, a fullback problem and a winger problem.
Hopefully we can do it but that’s still 5 players that need replacing with similar world class output.

Hardly anybody even plays with a number 10. Kev was best as an 8 when he had the legs to get up and down the pitch and drive us forward. Foden played off the right drifting centrally when he won player of the year. We've had legless De Bruyne playing 10 this season and it's been shite. Might work for Liverpool because they have 2 workhorses in McAllister and Gravenberch behind Wirtz but I don't think he was right for us to spend that money on.

If he doesn’t want to play for us, how exactly is that a failure?Make no mistake we can sugar coat it as much as like but if he goes to Liverpool that is massive kick in the balks for our recruitment another failure to get an elite player in .

A lot of words to confirm you don’t actually know whether he will be good enoughSo from watching MGW play you cant see how good he is or not.....you can't see his potential levels or ability.
No transfer is definitively going to be a success of failure at inception but you can see the possibility of it .....Phillips for instance - a lot of people doubted it...and were right...Haaland was the complete opposite as was Aguero for instance.
Nunes - lots had doubts that were expressed on here - again those people were correct. Gvardiol was an easy home run.
MGW is a good level player - but nowhere near the level of player we are losing or are going to lose over the next couple of seasons (bernardo, Gundo)...imho he has his limit on how high he can go....and he is probably not far off that. The same was said about Grealish by some and that has been proven correct also.
And thats before you even start to consider that he is playing in a system which is the complete opposite to ours....he has time and space to move into and never facing a 10 man defence camped on the edge of the area. Yes his mobility, running will be useful BUT he if we dont have someone else creative in there then unless Bobb, Echevari or most likely Foden step up then we are going to struggle....Unless as I said we bring in creative wide players and fullbacks - none of which we have at present (Sav could step up but is a long way off...Doku I love but he is inconsistent) -
For me it is far more prudent that if we are going for MGW then along with Reignders we HAVE to bring in a creative player, no. 10 style player in the style of Wirtz - no idea who but we arent even linked to anyone. Marmoush is a great player but is not a number 10 creatively....goal scoring yes (probably better than Wirtz for instance and on par with Foden) but we dont have that guile in our team to unlock deep sitting defences....
And look what has happened when we have tried to rely on width - delivery is poor from all over the pitch (we have just lost our best crosser of a ball in KDB) and even when we do get balls in there we are relying of Haaland to win against 3 -4 defenders - now I know this is an area where MGW can help as he is good at breaking into the box but we need that ball between the lines that David Silva, KDB used to play.....in behind the fullbacks and into the space at the byline where you used to see Sane, Sterling get to.....we dont have it and MGW doesnt provide that and our wide players are not god in those positions....
If we rely on attacking fullbacks then we are going to need two very good ones....as we have not a single fullback that can provide that at present. Livramento is a good player but I think he is dodgy regarding injuries. No real idea on Cambiaso (if we are still interested in him)
MGW adds steal and running to our team and potentially goals from midfield....bt the guile and intelligence that Gundo has, KDB had is not there....

Full backs need massive improvement thats where we were attacked the most last season.
Think about it Wirtz would be a brilliant signing but there are urgent needs elsewhere the club need to get fullbacks done. Otherwise we will concede transition after transition. So take that 150 mil for Wirtz and pay 60 to 70 mil for Livramento and another full back
