Advice needed re possible speeding ticket

Thought I’d jump on the back of this thread…
My daughter has been done twice within an hour for speeding by a mobile going to and from a venue. Any experts think she has any grounds to appeal one or is she up the creek?
If i know the law, which i may not, no letter means no fine/points

Ask them to show you the calibration certificate for the device. Although she must know she was speeding if she reckons she has been caught ?. Or did they stop her there and then ?

See reply to other poster - thanks for asking though

She’s had two separate emails confirming 36 in a 30 for both.

The car is leased, and emails came via leasing company
Right, that now makes sense

If it's a first offence and she's not attended a speed awareness course before, she would be offered this or the points
On the offer it says " you can opt for the speed awareness course if you've not attended one in the last three ( I think it is) years"
Now if she hasn't attended one, I'm wondering if there's a loophole there that she can, on both tickets, apply for the course

It’s been around 5 years since her last speeding awareness course. I think she just needs to slow down!

Is the deeply patronising speed awareness course an option for either/both offences? 3 points for an sp30 won't really affect her insurance but 4-6 will.

I attended one a few weeks ago, which is why I'm wondering about the time scales for attending a course
Im pretty certain the wording on the intended prosecution letter doesn't include "applied for a course" or "waiting to attend a course"

Went into town last week on motorbike past a speed van parked up I was only doing 30 so all good. Coming back 20 mins later forgot about the van till I saw it glanced at speedo 38 oh flip, as I was still a fair way from van pulled over and pushed my bike backwards into a side street then bogged off to cut a long story short will they be able to cross reference the earlier pic as obviously they will have no reg for the second.

Unlikely as it means they'd have to do some work

They wouldn't usually prosecute for 36 in a 30. The tolerance is (or used to be) 10% + 3 mph, meaning it'd have to be 37mph in a 30 limit (which I was done for a few years ago) before they'd take action. I was offered a speed awareness course and found it interesting and informative.

Update: It seems thr ACPO now recommends 10% + 2mph, so up to and including 35mph in a 30 limit.

My last two speeding offence prosecutions were both 79 in a 70
Two different constabularies, North Yorkshire and North Wales
The getting away with it limit is 10%+1 almost everywhere
Once you are 10% + 2mph you are game
