Couldn’t care less tbh mate. I had to stop posting in this thread as the fanboys were just making excuse after excuse for him. Latest seems to be pep ruined Jack.

It’s pathetic he is nearly 30 and a dad yet he acts like a child. He has wasted any talent he has had and once he retires he will probably deeply regret it.

I think he never had the high elite performer mentality down to he spent significant part of his career under shit managers in a shit team that was dwindling towards relegation, then relegated, then couldnt come back until the 3rd year in Championship, then came back to PL and finished 17th and then bit of spending got them something like 11-12th. after that when we decided he is a 100m player for 300k salary. hahaahahaha
madness really.
we really wanted a marquee signing at the time after the Messi saga finished and went to PSG. we had serious money put away for Messi which didnt happen in the end, so we pulled the trigger because we wanted to pull the trigger. hand him number 10 shirt, we really thought he will be David Silva or KDB type of transfer for us. not even close in the end. Pep had about same opinion about him as central midfield as Nunes...

after the treble season imo he was thinking he has done it all and the application just wasnt there anymore for him. not all players the same, after spending so much of his career in a gutter shit team winning the treble and being paid so well and all the commercial deals on top, Pep noticed it as well, ad just had enough of him. thats without all the troubles with alcohol and pubs and parties.

the fee put extra target on his back and was never gonna live up to expectation.

he is a nice person, funny too and did contribute to our treble albeit people overrate how much but he was part of it same as Akanji, Ake etc. but would have been madness to spend 100m each on them too just as much.
overall given his game time the end product was just not good enough, recent times he was actively trying to avoid shooting even. regressed badly.

lets hope a decent fee can be forced out of a club here. I would be happy with 40m big tie, we probably accept 25-30m in late August tho. not many sides than can afford his salary, and not like he is in to form either.
try to avoid shit loans with us contributing with his salary. thats just so poor solution.
 
A great lad who contributed to our trophy haul, significantly in the treble season and now time has run it's course.

It's doesn't need to turn sour. Pep loved his contribution when he was at his peak, the fans love him but know his time is up.

He's got 2 season's left on his contract, he's home grown, should still get a fairly decent fee for him and at worst the wages off of the book.

Agreed, sad but the right call I think.

The squad needs trimming to bring fresh faces in and I think we've seen that Pep doesn't fancy Jack as much this year.

I’ve tried to say that Pep won’t tolerate his off the field (mainly the being on the piss) for much longer, and I’m made out to be talking shite, and apparently using David Silva by a few as liking a drink makes it ok, he’s never been fit enough to lace that guys boots by the way, is a shit analogy and as you say fan boys will be fanboys

I’ve had mixed emotions and posted as such on this thread in past 12 months, not all doom and gloom I may add, tried to give him credit when it was due, but there’s a lot need to open their eyes or as a few have said fuck off with him…to the pub
 
Looks like these leaks have come from the club.

Jack needs to leave but it's not a good way of going about things, briefing about someone who is still a current player.

Best to keep it shut, nothing needs to be said.

Yeah, the wage bill is bloated and like you say the club seem to be consciously trimming it to make way for new arrivals. I imagine they would be happy to let Bernardo, Stones, Gundogan, Ake and Akanji all leave too if buyers can be found.

But did prove one season (out of 4) that he could do a job there all the same and has medals in the cabinet to prove it, was never deemed good enough to have a central role, and that’s hardly surprising considering who we’ve had in last few years, one day a lot will realise he was a bad buy, but he’s not the first and won’t be the last
