Grealish left out of the CWC squad (pg34)

There was a "Jack Grealish is at it again thread" from December 2020, when he was drunk crashing his car the morning after ignoring lock down rules. In that thread the consensus was he was a complete dickhead, and it was hoped muntd would sign him for £70m. A few months later City signed him for £100m, he was a "great signing" and you got people complaining why other fans didn't like Grealish, he was a great lad and look at what he does for charity.

Pity the "at it again" thread got locked then deleted when pointed out, as it seems that people have more faces than Janus to the power of -1, and will turn on any player the exact moment they are out of favour with the manager.

I said it a few times, the lads on Six year initial deals often seem to be the most expensive mistakes of the club, Mendy, Grealish and Phillips the last 3?

Where would he go if he were to leave? I can't see most clubs willing to pay the sort of wages he's on.
I reckon two years wages of 25 m,? Fee adjustment to compensate for keeping that going for two years or big signing on fee. Financial rules will probably dictate the method via an excel spreadsheet.

Brilliant…where was he last week?
Jack Grealish was sat on the bench last week.

You've jumped the gun and said "Pep ruined him". How exactly do you know that?

Pep obviously has some issue with Jack a long time now for whatever reason that is none of us know. Could well be a case of Jack Grealish has ruined himself.

What we all do know, Jack Grealish played the best football of his career under Pep Guardiola in 2022/23 playing off the left, Starting every single big game in that season.

Couldn’t care less tbh mate. I had to stop posting in this thread as the fanboys were just making excuse after excuse for him. Latest seems to be pep ruined Jack.

It’s pathetic he is nearly 30 and a dad yet he acts like a child. He has wasted any talent he has had and once he retires he will probably deeply regret it.

Someone's got it bad

Nothing will take that away from us or him. The treble.

His week long drinking session in 2024 ruined it for him. He's not Maradona. Can you imagine Cruyff or suchlike behaving like that (in public). Ps: I like him and think he's a nice lad but time to move on (Brighton/Bournemouth/Fulham).

Swap for Paqueta? Oh shit just remembered.

The Treble and winning x5 Trophies in one season.

I'm sure most of us on here (apart from the Jack fanboy) would have snapped a hand off if they were told that we'd sign Grealish for £100m, Win everything possible along the way and then sell him two season after that...We'd be all for it.

£100m well spent for that season alone.

He'll move on this summer and genuinely wish him all the best. It's a pity alot of people on here still like to stick the boot into Pep whilst giving the backing to Grealish especially when they don't know absolutely anything of what's going on behind the scenes.

I make it a net book value of £33m. £100m over 6 years and before the 5 year amortisation cut off was announced.

Probably on £15m-£16m a year wages too.

So can't see us profiting but freeing up the wages and space in the squad is probably required.
Yeah fair enough, I assumed a 5 year contract.

Cast your mind back to the end of the treble season where, without any doubt, Jack contributed massively. He then went on a summer bender and has never been the same since.
He never contributed massively ...he has very little in assists and goals to show for it even during the period he was supposedly good .We signed a player with a terrible attitude and over hyped by media . he is poor for england also .

His fanboys argued before he signed him that he would get penalties every game .Lolz no defender even FOUL him in dangerous areas

Regardless of what you think of Jack, he will always be part of the famous Treble winning team. Thanks Jack. (1 of the most iconic pictures in City’s history, and English football)

I love that picture.

That treble side is immortalised in my eyes, they delivered memories to last a lifetime, don't want a sour ending with any of them.

Just a thank you, all the best and don't forget to visit.

He's better than that. He gets in to most pl starting 11s.

Would vinny sign him?

I thought so too, thought he was final year but still 2 years, so a while yet. I did think he was 30+ initially though, at 29, we could still get a decent fee, maybe close to breaking even on the remaining value in the books.

wonder if he is part of the CWC squad. in some way while not a competition with big prestige but likely he will not be able to play in this tournament ever again. Pep tho might say you know what, you are not in my plans I rather use Bobb, OReilly etc, just stay at home and sort out the transfer. same for Stones in case he would be even fit within a few weeks.

Over the years I've seen players leave too soon who I wished had stayed but he's top of that list for me.

Come on Newcastle, sign him up.
