A lot of emotional posts in this thread.

If Jack was good enough he would be playing week in week out, wouldn’t he?

If Jack was foreign I don’t think he’d be getting this much attention from City fans.

Not many stand out moments in 4 seasons.

Creating two goals against Orient!? Lol.
You want a highlight reel, go to YouTube. Thats just what clearly came to mind off the top of my head.

And yes, created two goals against Orient. Watch that back too. Khusanov’s “goal” could’ve been Lewis’s which Grealish would’ve assisted and he got the assist for de Bruyne’s goal.

Not necessarily. If the reason he's not in the team is because he's fallen out with the manager.

If Jack was foreign he'd be far less likely to have problems with alcohol. Yet again he was last man standing at KDB's leaving do (and it annoys me that we had that before our final game, particularly after last season). He was probably good for nothing at training on Thursday leaving one day before we travel to Fulham.

I'd argue he should be far more under the microscope from our fans, as he's cheated us.

Without checking, I thought his injury record wasn't too bad?
I think he had little things have come up often enough the last couple seasons that he couldn’t get consistent minutes. He was starting to look himself against Orient and Madrid, but that injury in the first half pretty much derailed that.

You didn’t answer the question?
There are too many factors involved that I just don't know for me to answer that question honestly.

If Grealish has a drinking problem and has been behaving unprofessionally then no.

If we're basing it on ability and the performance of the team without him then yes.

We didnt play him in that role cause the other players we had for that role were far far superior

Then I think we can all agree £100m is a hell of a lot to spend on someone and then switch their position to one that doesn't really suit their best attributes.

We either signed him with a view of playing him in his villa position, then Pep had a look at him and decided he didn't fancy him there. Or we signed him with the view of sticking him on the left, which is then a misjudgment of his attributes and poor scouting.

In my opinion, it's the former.

I don't know what's gone on behind the scenes for Grealish. He could have been great for us and I've seen flashes of his class in the past. Maybe he's been played out of position, but that said, world class attacking players with two good feet should be able to be versatile. If he's a boozer and/or binge drinker, Pep is not going to like that. I personally do not know what he's been doing and I am skeptical about things that are reported in the press. I am not an elite athlete, but even I know that having a skin full screws up your fitness.

Whatever happens, good luck to Jack Grealish. He's probably one of the good guys most of the time.

You mean playing a lot and being picked a lot by Pep until this season.

If he leaves because of off field activities then fair enough we don't know what's gone on.
Those saying he's not been good enough or shit for most of the time are basically calling Pep a fucking idiot for not seeing what they see.

Sadly he has to be finished here. If he can't get a starting place in an injury hit season and with so many players out of form too, something tells you behind the scenes things must be really bad.
Yeah it looks like he's on his way. Shame that it hasn't worked out as hoped, for him or us. But while he's still officially a City player, he has my support. Unlike quite a lot on here. Ah well; their choice.

Equally, though, if he was foreign he'd be far less likely to be in all the papers every single time he goes out for a drink.

I agree he's guilty of making some bad decisions, but he gets far more scrutiny for his off-field behaviour because he was once England's next big thing.

It's a bit gutting as he's obviously a likeable lad with a big heart and a popular member of the squad. He also has great ability as we've seen at times. No idea where he goes from here.

Villa played him in the middle of the 4-2-3-1 but we were mainly playing 4-1-2-3 so his villa position didn't exist in our format.

He didn't do well playing deeper for Villa, but I thought that would be the plan to play as an 8, which rarely ever happened bar the 3-0 Forest game at home this season.

KDB and D Silva were also considered 10s like JG but ended up 8s around 2017 to suit the preferred Mourinho 6 and 2 x 8s.
