It's Quiet the £250m return

I honestly foresee a very quiet window for us. Can see quite a few leaving and maybe 1-2 coming in (prob a cm and a full back). If ederson leaves then obviously a keeper too.

Pep isn’t exactly hiding what he wants to happen. He loves his players and prob thinks can get one more year out of them

Pep would still be pushing Gundogan out the tunnel in a wheelchair if he had his way.

Viana needs to fuck all that sentiment off and crack on with new blood.

It’s obvious that Pep shouldn’t be in charge of outgoings and incomings. He’s far too loyal to multiple players that are past their sell by date. Squad decisions has to be based on ability, not sentimental reasons.

Liverpool is adding Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong and potentially a striker after winning the PL. We won’t be contenders for the title if we see Akanji, Bernardo and Gundogan starting every single week. Someone also has to make room for Nico and Khusanov, in addition to 4-5 new signings

I’d keep Ake, Kova and Nunes as squad players, but I’d sell Ederson (wants to leave), Walker, Stones (sick note), Akanji, Bernardo, Gundo, Grealish and McAtee. Echeverri and Bah on loan. Time to be ruthless like in 2017 and build a squad for the future. This season has showed we need younger and hungrier players
Pep isn't in charge of outgoings and incomings , the DoF is, though Pep will have some input as he should. We cannot simply get rid of players under contract . He has not stopped DeBruyne from being shown the door against his will.

In the business end of this season he has shown faith in many of his older players but I think his decisions at that time have been vindicated by a return of points over the last three months that looked unlikely at Christmas.

Scored but he was visibly shitting himself. Not a leader by any sensible measure.
Haha! Whatever you say! I was watching close ups on the TV and didn’t see any of that, but I’m not arguing the toss with anyone about anything today.

Onwards and upwards!

I think our bottle neck concerning transfers will be our 17 free spots. Since February '25 it was these:

Ederson - Ortega
Nunes - Khusanov - Akanji - Dias - Gvardiol
Rodri -Kovačić - Gündogan - González
KDB - Bernardo
Savinho - Haaland - Marmoush - Doku

Kev is off.
Reijnders might take his spot.

That's still no spot for Reis or Echeverri...

I think Bernardo and Gundo will stay.
If Eddie and/or Ortega leave I doubt we'll sign homegrown keepers.

Bottom line, I think we will have the tricky job to add top homegrown players to replace HGs like Stones, Aké or Grealish.

Fingers crossed we get our first choices.
Yep which is why newcastle getting champions league is a bit of a bummer. Livramento is a player who'd start for us and replace one of those association trained players

2 of the best wingers under 23 in the world, one of the best academy prospects in the country, who's 20, and last year's player of the year who's the grand age of 24 and is undoubtedly one of the best players City has ever produced...

We're not exactly floundering
First sentence is an opinion few in their right mind would agree with.
If you're talking about O'Reilly - yep he's good, but still green - far from being reliable. Foden? Last season is no guarantee he'll come good again - especially if the health rumour has any credence.
Not floundering - but I wouldn't get the bunting out. Badly need some excellent transfer additions.

We need world class winger too, since both Doku and Savio are awful players with no end product. Doku has to go, as he’s just really weak and not mentally sharp either.
One thing Doku is not is weak, he is powerfully built and is very rarely outmuscled. He frequently comes away with the ball in duels with defenders.

I don't know how our wingers will finally work out, to me they have both shown quite a lot of real ability that hasn't really been consistent in a team which has collectively underperformed and Doku has had quite a few interruptions through injury.

I can certainly remember FFS Mahrez, Sane and Sterling all getting similar grief at similar stages in their City career.

Reading between the lines, txiki, pep, viana, khaldoon et al will be telling some players next week that they won’t be getting much game time and need to find a new club.

How many is anyone’s guess. 4 new faces min to compete next season to our normal level. The squad needs trimmed so expect loans aswell.

Rb and a Kev replacement is nailed on. Anyone else I’m not sure.

Let’s crack on now champions league is done.

CM: Reijnders
RB: Livramento/Wesley/Vanderson
LB: Cambiasso/Kerkez/Robinson

That would be a great start to the window. Reijnders is one of the best midfielders those season, was voted serie A best midfielder of the season and would work perfectly in a pivot with Rodri, hoping he can be the Gundogan replacement as he carries a goal threat

Full backs hopefully doesn't need explaining, Gvardiol is our best CB and he's wasted at left back, we need someone natural there and while I love how Nunes has adapted we need a proper right back

The keeper situation is simple, if Ederson isn't there and wants to go then replace him but if he shows he wants to stay, commits to a long contract then we continue with him. Would prefer the former but not sure it pans out that way.

The one I wouldn't know if the attacker, as it has to be a good one but dunno if we need a #10 like Xavi Simons or a winger like Rodrygo

Wirtz would've been perfect as he's versatile but that looks dead....Just don't think MGW is the answer

I have faith in Savinho, also don't wanna kick Foden to the curb he's world class, then Marmoush and Haaland give us plenty of goals. Doku I'd sell if the offer is good but also feel like we can give him another year

Shot mate, that’s 2 posts I want to double like. Behave

To be honest I don’t really have an issue with that, wanting a change okay, running down a contract with no intention of staying not so much, other players, seems Reijnders is one have signed a contract with a release clause so their club gets something .
Or if it was us and say Foden I wouldn’t be too happy ,it’s liverpool so not bothered.
Yes and no, cost them nothing, but see your point, club should have shifted him last year, their failure. I’m not sure if Foden was off to RM after contributing to our success he would be booed, however who knows

We've had Doue, Barcola and Yamal which are fair shouts, maybe Pino, Guler if counted as a winger, so if it's apparently an insane opinion who else are you saying?
