Florian Wirtz

Might add it’ll fuck me off royally if Leverkusen make it easy for the scousers, it’d be nice to see them play proper hardball and rinse them for every penny.
They already ser the price long ago for all comers. Leverkusen doesn't care who the final winner is.

The price was known to all potential buyers and it came down to Wirtz and his team. And they chose Liverpool.

Fair enough. Although if he is unimpressed by Bayern’s facilities he will got AWOL when he has his first trip down County Road in Bootle.

It could be nonsense, but the page said way back earlier on in the year that Liverpool was his number one pick in England so maybe there is something in it.

Said this before but I’m not very interested in a player who’s primary decision-making process is ‘where do mummy and daddy want me to go?’. That’s not the mentality a top club should be after.
Again, im unhappy he isnt coming. But removing emotions, he has made the best choice on paper.

This does not smell like a "where Mummy and Daddy want to go" decision.

This sounds more like a cold and calculated "put all the options on the table and let me analyze all the factors then make a reasoned choice" type decision.

The dude traveled to each stop to listen to the offers and then went home mauled it over and picked the best choice for him.

Good for him, now we move on.

If there ever was a real " player X rejected team A and B" this would be it. 3 teams went all in an he picked one.

Because Romano only gets paid when he gets interactions, and posting something like that will garner the most.

It’s why he only posts about commercially big teams when the window is closed. So far up Real and Barca’s arse that he’s in danger of falling out their mouths.
How is it 2025 and people still don’t understand Romano only posts what he gets fed. If he posts that re wirtz it’s because wirtz camp have asked him to do so. Probably to strengthen liverpools negotiation and to hurry the deal along

He is basically a mouth piece for clubs, agents etc.

I was reading on one of the Bayern pages that apparently the rumours in Germany are he isn't convinced by Kompany at Bayern and was left unimpressed with their facilities. Also that he is unsure that Pep is the right manager for him and his game and that it was always Liverpool he had his eyes on outside of Germany.
Pep isn’t the right manager for him but Slot is? I know this guy has just turned 22 but his decision making is suspect.

Oh I know, I read that he got into a bit of trouble for it a couple years back. Potential litigation.

If we allow Wirtz to transfer to Liverpool, it's a disaster.

IMO we should match the current Liverpool offer to club and player and point out to Wirtz that at City, Wirtz, assuming that his form continues. is going to start in mid unless injured or unless it's not an important game.

It's not too late to reopen the bid for Wirtz - and also, IMO, this time Pep needs to make a personal appeal.

Ronaldo made disparaging comments about the training facilities when he returned to Old Trafford. Maybe these players should check these things out before putting pen to paper.

The money isn't the issue.

The player doesn't want us.

We allowed Alexis Sanchez to transfer to United, and it wasn't a disaster.

Peps football might not be for him.

I remember listening to I think Rafa Honigstein on a podcast when Pep was at Bayern and he said that in Germany, a lot of Germans just didn't take to Peps football at all and in some quarters there are some who think he is responsible for eroding away what made German footballers what they were and admired for.

Identity clash and all that.

A lot in Germany want to follow the Klopp/ Heynckes way of football which is seen as more quintessential German

Pep leaves in 2 years. Slot just arrived and won a title. And is team does not have a potential relegation case hanging over it.

The suspect decision would have been to pick City. Assuming everything else was the same.

horrible when the final fee and salary comes out and its about same what we did at the Grealish transfer 4 years ago which is worse now with inflation...

assuming 100m euros and 30m as addons, thats total 110m pounds depending couple of big results I guess.
350k salary on 5 year deal is another 90m.
25m agent fee
total package 225m

someone like MGW will be 70m fee, 250k salary, 15m agent fee. 150m package and he is lot less likely to be a big hit and also 3 years older.
in 3 years time if Wirtz keep improving he easily could a coup for Real Madrid for world record fee or close.
in 3 years time MGW will be 28-29, where need to decide to renew for immense salary or try to get rid (post Pep era)...

sadly its very much dippers KDB moment...

Why some people difficult to accept the fact that top young players doesn't want to join us for whatever reasons.

First it's Bellingham and now this time it's Wirtz.

Source?

You cannot possibly the believe the nonsense PR from the club last week that he was too expensive despite us knowing how much he was going to cost for about 6 months and the on looking likely probability that he is going to sign for Liverpool for around £85m + add ons.

He doesn't want us. He rejected us and we moved on.

By multiple top sources we were prepared to pay what Leverkusen wanted and give him a salary he wanted.

Money wasn't an issue. His desire to come was.
