Knew this thread would be full of knee-jerk "lets keep him!"

He's been one of the worst this season for not looking interested and he's given far too many post-matchers where he's doing anything but taking any sort of responsibility.

I know message boards don't have the capacity for a nuanced discussion so I'll throw the disclaimer out here now - I'm glad he had a good game, glad he scored, very much appreciate his years of service, effort and winding up the scousers.

But its time for him to move on. He's come good the last few weeks but he's been trying to leave for years. His performances throughout the season can't be papered over because he's got his head down at the end and he's clearly got a problem with other members of the squad. We also need to be trimming the wage bill to get some genuine world class talents in and that means moving on the players in the twilights of their career on massive wages.

So big thanks, but let's move on or we'll wind up in the same position next year.

The bit where you said he's not looked interested much of the season just tells us you have no idea what you are talking about.

More chance of having a nuanced discussion with my shoe.

He's only been below par when he's been shoved on the right.

He's been good in the centre, technically great, finally got a good passer in the middle. Rodri back next year, throw Bernardo alongside and teams won't get the ball off of us.

He's not the problem and thankfully I don't think Pep sees it that way either.

Half the squad can go before Bernardo's name is even brought up.

I rather keep Gundo. I think Bernie is like KDB he might have the odd good game but the consistency is gone. Also he was slow before but now it feels like wtching a sloth at times. We need to make the tough cuts and rebuild.

How did we get the penalty at the weekend?

He's been great playing at centre midfield, that's his role next season, hopefully rotated more to save his legs.
