The person driving was certainly in control of the trajectory of the car. If he'd passed out it would have just slewed in one direction surely?

I've seen a video from before it happened and it looks like a guy's driven down a street by accident, got a load of shit for it from fans and the drivers just lost his head and put his foot down

Hard to tell if the doors were locked or not. The back window of the car was smashed, whether to get to him or not I don't know.

AS bad as it sounds I'm relieved this is NOT believed be a person of colour or ethnic minority. This country is a powder keg at the moment. There have been similar events in 3 German cities recently, one a Christmas market, all terrorist related I am sure.

That said we don't know for sure yet, in the footage the car looks under control and deliberate but again that could be misleading.
