Incident at Liverpool Title Parade May 26th

Awful and hope there's no serious injuries.

Whatever the reason for this, there will need to be some questions for future parades as they must be a potential target. Whilst the City parades have been difficult to get to and see at times, the shorter route within a city centre must make them easier to police.

The question again has to be asked. How does a car end up there in front of an ambulance, when the street is full of 1000's of people?

Where are the stewards? Where are the Police? Why aren't the Police at the car finding out why it is there, and detaining the driver?

I'm sorry, but as we all know, Merseyside Police are fucking clowns.

Okay this is a close up of just before the horror unfolded and it seems to back up that for some reason the car is in the wrong place. People are remonstrating with him and somebody opens his door, then others are kicking the car and throwing stuff at it. He stops momentarily then carries on. The video doesn't show the horrific scenes, hopefully this is okay to post, apologies if not and delete.

This is what I mean, Police have fucked up big time should be no cars anywhere near the centre with that many people. If it was all blocked off he can't take a wrong turn.

Nothing makes sense atm.

Pretty clear from the videos that he’s taken a wrong turn, proceeded to get shit for it from fans (rightly!) who are then throwing stuff at his car and opening the doors (wrongly?) and he’s either panicked and tried getting away quick, had a monumental head loss or a combination of the both.

Regardless, what a **** to speed up into a crowd of people. Continuously.

Fucking ridiculous.
Obviously we don’t know for sure at this stage but I remember a game at home to Villa about 14 or 15 years ago. It was over Christmas - Balotelli hat-trick IIRC - and before the game when we were crossing the road to the stadium a car sped past while there were loads of fans in the road. Plenty of us gave the driver abuse because it was a lunatic thing to do. Anyway, further up it stopped and a bloke jumped out (think he was the passenger and his missus was driving but it could’ve been the other way round) and offered everyone out.

Truly shocking incident.

Carnage and chaos-seems likely there will be numerous casualties.

Police will be closing the whole scene down and preserving what they can whilst trying to evacuate the casualties.

Police were incredibly quick to react and ensure the suspect was in one piece to be arrested-

Command structures set up, cordons -everybody kept on duty to ensure the initial scene is protected and the suspect can be managed forensically and medically.

Huge task ahead for them. Key to any big job is to stop everything happening so the investigation can then begin.
Think the majority will be criticising, or at least questioning how he managed to get the car there rather than commending them for the response

Seems like a mistake has led to this.
I’m not excusing what the man has done but it seems he’s taken a wrong turn and got dogs abuse which is expected in this situation.
It also seems then things have started to be thrown at the car and someone has opened his door and he’s panicked and tried to drive off.
Maybe the guy feared for his safety.
Not an excuse but you never know how people can react when in that situation.
Sadly it’ll be the innocent fans that have been hit, not the ones throwing things or trying to get into his car.
As others have said I’m not sure how the car has managed to get in that situation in the first place.
Definitely shouldn’t be able to get anywhere near the fans in a car.
The police will be at fault for that.
As I said earlier wishing those involved a speedy recovery and hopefully a few rumours I’ve seen about deaths are untrue.
Regardless it doesn’t look good.

I’m not sure if you’re willing to drive through people like the driver did, regardless of the reason, why he stopped when he did.

Confirmed by a fan.

At that location at the time there were only a couple of Police there.

How the fuck has he managed to end up down that road without being stopped in the first place? Whatever the explanation, I pray everyone is ok.

Most of Liverpool city centre is closed off along the parade route.

I would assume the car is under the tent.

Yes I remember a few fuckers speeding dangerously near the ground as soon as they got the chance, pissed off at being stuck.
