Incident at Liverpool Title Parade May 26th

Yes, there seems to be a car infront of his car, and as he drives forward, you can just see the ambulance that he passes in his car.

That’s all good and well, but 250,000 City fans wanted to see the team parade the treble. The Etihad only holds 50,000+.

Heaton Park would be an ideal place to hold an event. Close it off to traffic, put security barriers up, ticket only, and enough space for 250,000 fans. But you would still have the problem of fans going to and from Heaton Park safely. And tbh, I wouldn’t be arsed traipsing up to Heaton Park from Burnage and back.

That’s true but it would be nice for once they actually allocated free tickets for solely say season ticket holders, local schools, the teams under 18’s squad and families, the back room staff, local disadvantaged kids from hospitals etc - a pipe dream I know.

Here.

Nothing graphic.

Was this along the actual parade route or adjacent to it? If it was, why would they allow random cars along the route? If it wasn't, and you're trying to drive through a parade that you know is going to attract thousands, super bad judgement on the drivers part for even trying to get through it.

We all wish the best for the people injured at this point. As to why the crowd attacked the car, it's instinct. I remember walking down ashton new road at the end of a game and some car driving knob had got impatient and I think gone through a red light and tried to push his way through the crowd that were filling the road walking away from the stadium. People were banging on his roof and pretty angry. OK, it's nothing compared with what happened in Liverpool, and it quickly deescalated, was over in seconds, but it was a glimpse of madness all round.

I personally think he panicked after his car was initially attacked don’t think he meant to hurt anyone just worried for his own safety and it escalated from there
Looks the most plausible reason the more footage you witness. One of those tragic incidents that escalate quickly and no rational reason. Possible that he had some form of medical reaction that caused him to lose control near the end.

Whatever happened and why, it was totally fucked up.

The parade organisers, LCC, and Merseyside Police need to take their share of the blame.

Liverpool parades are different to the Manchester club ones arent they? like they travel for miles and miles from the outskirts as i recall they did in…..2022 when they won the cups. whereas city and united just pootle around the city centre or to the ground
If you want to equate it to something more familiar, Imagine a city parade going down Ashton new road, starting back towards clayton past the Etihad along ancoats and then into town.

The ambulance are normally at the end of the parade, and marks the end of the parade.
We only open the road once the public have moved off.
Seems the road was open to early for some reason.

No idea why they started attacking the car in the first place, they don't seem to be attacking the car in front of him

I will never ever forget that. It was the day I brought my first born son home from hospital.
Watching it play out from the police helicopter was horrific and soon after the priest giving them their last rights.
Haunt me till I go to my grave.
Yes I remember it too vividly from the tv and from the Police helicopter video. Really socking footage.

There are a number on the offside of the vehicle trying to drag people away from attacking the car
You've better eyesight than me then. I couldn't see any. Police should have moved in and should have got that guy away from kicking the rear windscreen in.
