Didnt find a topic for this, so opened one. I was just thinking who is gonna get it this time.

It wont be a City player again sadly, thats certain.

you would think CL final outcome might change it but dont know. I cant pick one player from either Inter or PSG and say oh yes this player is the standout one. also Inter messed up their league and domestic cup.
whil PSG one win away from treble.

now what I dont want to see is something like Salah getting it for a title win where was indeed top scorer and player of the year etc, but rather poor with his club in all other comps.
Same goes for Kane, hugely important in their league win, but fuck Haaland didnt win when he won the treble with more goals, surely one title cannot be worthy.
then you have Barca, with Yamal league and cup win delivered, he had immense season but to give to him at age 17-18 is just setting him up winning every other year like Messi. Raphina also had incredible season.

Real Madrid and Perez surely can miss out on this year ceremony as well. would be madness is Vinicius or Mbappe even close to top5 in the votes.

if not any of the mentioned then who?

I would give it a PSG player if they win the CL too but very hard to pick one and whoever is picked is not like a huge name so not likely to gather large % of the votes. Like Vitinha and Neves impressed a lot, but they are even much behind than Rodri in a popularity contest if its vs the likes of Vinicius, Mbappe, Yamal, at least in the eyes of voters usually who would still vote for Messi or CR if they could...
also whole story at PSG they got rid of the galacticos and put in much more team effort which might get them a TREBLE.
Dembele?Hakimi?Donnarumma? yeah all having great season but Ballon Dor level??? maybe...

worried Salah will be voted through , really dont want that as vote can be going toward quite a few players which can work out his favour.
last year i think it was very much like Rodri or a Real player, this year its more open, but doesnt feel like there is a standout candidate like Rodri was...

even read on twatter that some rags thinking Fernandes hahahaahahahahaha.
enough of the jokes...

Fyi bookies currently think its Dembele or Yamal as favourites and than Salah, Lautaro Martinez (if Inter winss CL), Donnnarumma lags behind them but thats just current order as per odds.

I really enjoyed watching Yamal, but fuck me he is not even 18 yet. he wins Ballon Dor now later on he wins it even in mediocre seasons just based on built up hype, popularity etc...

It wont be salah. Probably be from whichever team wins the CWC. Or Mbappe who got the euro golden boot so they can get Mard-drid back on side.

Given that it's entirely a PR exercise these days, it'll probably be Mbappe despite him winning fuck all. Salah has had a great season, but players only get it for the domestic performance if they play in Spain. Breaking every record in the Premier League is worth fuck all.

From the little non-City football I've seen, it should be Kvaratskhelia, but they'd have to win the Champions League. But personally I'd give it to Trent Alexander-Arnold for no particular reason.

Love the last bit made me lol

The player who made the biggest difference this season, again, was Rodri...

Not sure who deserves it most tbh, but it should be someone who at least made the CL semis (but not Arsenal, because their league season was mediocre).

PSG - probably Dembele, maybe Donnarumma.
Inter - L. Martinez
Barca - Raphina, Lewandowski, Yamal.

I'd probably edge towards Dembele.

100% Yamal for me, the fact he's young is a poor reason to deny him.

Salah had a great season until spitty suggested he was a stick on for the
Ballon D'or.
Bang average since.
